New project at CERN if you like to do CERN work. Please note that this is a very early prototype, currently in its alpha test stage. We plan to unify the ATLAS site with T4T (and eventually other CERN LHC BOINC projects) when it's passed successfully through alpha and beta testing. Ben |

A bit more info & a clickable link :P http://atlasathome.cern.ch/index.php ATLAS is a particle physics experiment taking place at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, that searches for new particles and processes using head-on collisions of protons of extraordinary high energy. Petabytes of data were recorded, processed and analyzed during the first three years of data taking, leading to up to 300 publications covering all the aspects of the Standard Model of particle physics, including the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012. Large scale simulation campaigns are a key ingredient for physicists, who permanently compare their data with both "known" physics and "new" phenomena predicted by alternative models of the universe, particles and interactions. This simulation runs on the WLCG Computing Grid and at any one point there are around 150,000 tasks running. Seems to be some problem over at Atlas and vLHC since yesterday evening. Can't get in to message boards there to report it so posting here in case someone can pass the message on. Both of these are on the newer page layout than here so might be something on a shared server? Co-pilot still working so jobs still being sent out within any current VM but when the Boinc task finishes, it fails to report so no new tasks being issued. |

ATLAS@home had a database issue yesterday. I can't connect to vLHC@home today. Maybe they share a server. Tullio |
