Yesterday we had 283,000 work units ready to go and now they are all about gone. What happened? Did we have many new members joining the project? What ever happened is good but we now need more work units.

I also send out PM's to all the members of the 'US Navy' LHC team telling them of the work units that were available and while doing so noticed that years ago to the present when LHC was down for months and years at a time the 'US Navy' had many folks wanting to crunch work units for the project but never got any and never came back to the project including some who just got a few.

At present this our count of members:
Total members 214 (view)
Active members 37 (view)
Members with credit 150 (view)

Listed are 74 members without credit...zero credits...those who came to work and went away due to lack of work and many more who just got a few credits and left. We are now down to actually 29 active members. I am sure there are hundreds of teams which will show the same results as the 'US Navy' LHC team.

We really would like to see more work units to keep the teams working as well as those who have not signed up with a team.

Sometimes we crunch through Tasks very rapidly. I've seen it happen when a large number have been pushed to the Server over night and when I go online in the morning there are only a few left but they really don't exist due to delays in Server status updating.

I've also notice that sometimes the Tasks do not run anywhere near the "Estimated" time but finish in just a very few minutes (less than 5) with no errors.

Sorry about the estimate; there is no way we can predict
the lifetime of the beam. That is what we are investigating.
The estimate should represent the maximum time,...
It is in fact of great interest when we lose all the partilces
early. Thanks. Eric.
