I am now running only LHC@home and climateprediction.net as these two seem to get along well in BOINC. Love my other projects but BOINC wasn't handling 10 programs too well and I'm just a little PC anyway. I like the credit but really am running these programs because I like the science and enjoy being involved at some level. Cheers, everyone.

Hi Kathryn,

it takes some time for BOINC scheduler to stabilize time assignment for each project if you run too many projects. I run few projects too. Since I have a 2 cores CPU, I run only 3 projects: LHC@Home, T4T and SETI@Home.

Cheers

Kathryn,

I see you're running an Intel Celeron 450. I have an Intel quad core Q6700 CPU I don't need that is socket compatible with your Celeron 450. Just pull the 450 out and drop in the Q6600. It has 4 cores and runs 4 projects quite nicely. It's yours for free if you want it along with 4 GB RAM, a bigger heatsink and fan and a bigger power supply if you need it. It draws 105 watts compared to your 450's 35 watts so it would be 3X the cost to operate. You might need a bigger power supply too. If so I can give you one for free.

PM me with shipping address if you want it.

6 bangers are for wussies.

IQ is just another thing written by men. It doesn't measure a damn thing now that I think about it. Kind of like those fake doctor's licenses they give out at college. It only represents what you might be able to do, not what you have done or what you're going to do. In all actuality we should be able to award ourselves certificates whenever we think we've learned enough to do something. And if we get any followers, then you know it's real. So I ought to be able to say my IQ is 729 and I've read enough medical books and done enough practice to call myself a doctor, and if anyone wants to come to me for help, that's up to them. How did humans get so sidetracked? Was it the devil? I think there's a devil around here somewhere, now where's my whip?
