September 28 and 29, (2013) CERN had an Open House or OpenDays.

Some of the lectures are now online.

If you were able to make it to Geneva, please share what you saw and enjoyed.

I couldn't make it Saturday, but I thoroughly enjoyed tromping around in the rain on Sunday. There must have been at least 100 volunteers guiding and explaining the experiments and the infrastructure. Opendays was extremely well organized - they even provided shuttle buses between the Meyrin Campus, Prevessin Campus, and experiment access sites.

I was able to see:
Introduction talks and exhibits at the main (globe) entrance
CERN Workshops- Fabication, milling and testing
The synchrocyclotron
Compact Linear Collider
Detectors
Linear Accelerators
Super Proton Cyclotron
LHCb experiment

My thanks to all those who gave the presentations and guided us around.
Jay
