Iam running Climate prediction and LHC at the same time but if all wu`s are finished Boinc receive no new work, only if I detaching an attaching new then it works fine. Rating is 20/80, with Seti it works to 70% rightly!

If you are running BOINC 4.05, try upgrading to BOINC 4.09 from http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu or http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/boinc_alpha.

Rebirther,

You didn't say how many WU's you had already downloaded and processed. You may be hitting the 50 WU per day download limit imposed by LHC. I hit that limit today.

I never get 50 WUs per day, i use 4.09, but from yesterday til today not only one WU was requested by my computer, only if I reattaching...

I think there is a problem with Boinc/Climate prediction...

Rebirther,

I only run SETI@home, Pirates (currrently detached), and LHC@home. I don't run Climate Prediction. I'm waiting for Einstein@home.

I went to 4.09 the day it was released, after having gone through the 4.05/Win9x problems, and 4.06 through 4.07. 4.09 is working well for me. I run Win98SE with a single processor AMD XP 3100+ at 1.7GHz, and 512MB of RAM.

I'm set to contact the servers every 5 days, giving me from 5 to 10 days of work. I get a fair number of SETI WU's. When I joined LHC the other day, I got 50 LHC WU's and ran through them quickly because I had 13 zero CPU time WU's. When the day changed for LHC, I got 50 more WU's from LHC, so I've hit the limit both times I've downloaded from LHC. This batch of LHC seems to be running about 45 minutes per WU, so far. I'm not experiencing any problems getting WU's for either of my active projects. My questions are about the scheduling of work on the WU's, but that's a different thread. (GRIN)

Another possibility is the amount of disk space you have allocated to BOINC. My settings:
Use no more than 3 GB
Leave at least 0.75 GB
Use no more than 50% of total space
Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory
Measured floating point speed 1547.12 million ops/sec (BOINC ver. 4.09)
Measured integer speed 3566.01 million ops/sec (BOINC ver. 4.09)

YMMV. I have far more disk space allocated than I actually use for BOINC and the three projects.

I understand the CP WU's are very large, and take quite a while to run. I'm just guessing, but perhaps a combination of your contact frequency and the size of the WU's is the reason for only one WU at a time. It's something at which to look.

Cheers,

Stephen

Hello Stephen,

I have changed now the days from 0,1 to 0.1, i think this was wrong, now Iam getting WUs again. I hope it works forever now. Thx for your comments.

Rebirther,

I'm very happy you got it working again. I hope my suggestion was of some small help to you in solving your problem.

Good crunching,

Stephen
