boinc 4.09, 6T 4.45

dail-up problem again ?
error 113
log:
- Sending request to scheduler: http://lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch/scheduler/cgi
- Can't resolve hostname lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch (valid name, no data record of requested type)
- scheduler init_op_project to http://lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch/scheduler/cgi failed, error -113
- Result v64lhc1000pro4s10_12550.4_1_sixvf_19541_2 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
- If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
- Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds
- Restarting result v64lhc1000pro4s10_12550.4_1_sixvf_19541_2 using sixtrack version 4.45

Resetting, removing, re-install did not solve this problem.

also in an similar yet undefined situation the 6T wu will terminate (premature) and be sent out has a very short successful return.

I'm not sure that this is a dial-up problem. I have seen it on a permanent Internet link. However, I only saw it once, and the client restarted without a problem.

error 113 is caused by trying to reach internet without the password.
This is done on purpose.
It's the reaction of boinc to that 113 error .
I have no communication problem.

another bug ?

You can make the gui quit and run 6T as a stand alone, multiple 6T processes for 1 cpu.

Try this boinc shortcut :

"C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc_gui.exe" alpha-
You''ll see the tray icon run cursor on it it should vanish, but 6T won't.

This works on my two boxes.

Themes de couleur 6T ver 4.45

Forte suspicion que ces amuse-gueules influencent le temps d'excution
selon le thme choisi. Exemple desert sky, antartica serait plus rapide.

multiple choices

a) I am going crazy
b) my computer is going crazy
c) this project is going crazy

Has to be choice ----> C

D) Firewall is whacked.

I had this problem on one of four boxes that were configured identically. Only disabling Norton on the failing box fixed the problem. The other three still have Norton running.

Go figure.
