Most of my tasks recently end with error "Maximum elapsed time exceeded". Project problem?

This is NOT good. I tried to access the URL without
luck. I'll check with admins next week.

@ Erik,
the URL is denied access to us but as Dennis has his computers on view so you can access them by clicking on his username and then clicking on 'view computers', then just pick the top couple of computers as they both have the error Dennis is reporting.

OK; I managed to access some info.
It says "compute error" but then I found
max elapsed time exceeded........
Seems very strange to me; could it be disk
space exceeded.... I'll try and follow up tomorrow some
more.

Yes here is just one example of his task and the same one done by a host without the error.

http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=3045175

His run time 404,248.05 (sec) vs the completed of 13,055.11 (sec) on that same task.

I noticed that too. His wingmen are completing the tasks in far less runtime than he is spending on them. Also his CPU times are far less than his runtimes which makes me wonder if he (or something) is severely throttling his CPU or severely throttling BOINC.

It's definitely not disk space exceeded, that receives it's own error message and is not lumped in with the elapsed time exceeded message.

Hi Dennis,

I have reported a problem which could be the source of your error WUs. Are you familiar with the cc_config file? I so please activate task_debug.

I did recon on other projects that the GPU apps sometimes fail to report/BOINC fail to recognise when a task complete and it continue to run after reaching 100%.

As mentioned above I send a report to the BOINC Alpha mailing list. I you are willing to help and have this error several times a week you could help the developers to track the bug down a lot!!
