First time I/we have seen this. We shall see if there are other reports.
Hopefully you will keep trying as well and we shall get more evidence.
Prima facie it looks genuine problem with download of executable.

Might be helpful to post bytecount / MD5 of the executable, then Lurker could compare with whatever landed on his machine.

Attaching/detaching the project did not solve the problem...
With my others computers LHC wus work fine:
ID 98802291 Intel Core(TM) i7 8 cpus Vista 64b (also run T4T in VM mode)
ID 99266684 Intel Atom (TM) 4 cpus Windows 7
ID 9964986 Intel Core (TM) 2 cpus Vista 32b
The problem is with ID 9992610 Intel Core (TM) 2 cpus XP Prof 32b

Yes, but...

BOINC uses an MD5 checksum for data files - you can pick lines like

    <md5_cksum>2e156a9cbd4b96c3d41881eecce3bd33</md5_cksum>

out of client_state.xml

In the past, I've used freely available MD5 tools to test for data file errors.

For executable files, BOINC uses a certificated <file_signature> instead - we'd have to do a manual check at each end for this idea to work.

Sorry, forgot to come back on this one.

Both sixtrack_windows_sse3 and sixtrack_windows_pni are 3,031,040 bytes on my system, and their MD5 (same for both) is

DB0A0D1F8F83A195A29C56947B7A018A

I used ChaosMD5 (http://www.elgorithms.com/downloads/chaosmd5.php) to generate that checksum - it gives the same value as BOINC does for datafiles (although BOINC insists that it should be expressed in lowercase). Some of the other free MD5 generators don't.

Lurker,

You may want to restart the boinc client on that machine.

Igor.

Clear up the mess!
I removed all Boinc stuff (programs, apps...), washed the win registery.
Then stop my firewall, download Boinc back again, re-connect to my account manager
and guess what ? 6T (pni wus) from LHC work fine again!
Now back to crunch hard ;-)
