I'm new here and I would have thought to have seen some WU's come through in the last few hours.

Take a look at "News" (Server Status). Eric posted an update some hours ago as to what is happening and related to the absence of WU for a time.

BTW, Welcome.

I just got 14 new Tasks. All are sse3 and run about 4:10+ hours. Are these the new work that Eric promised or recalculations from the previous work?

Just wondering because I've suspended Einstein and SETI to devote resources to getting some LHC@Home V1.0 work done. Still running T4T.

Thanks for the welcome. I finally got in some WU's. I've been with SETI for 11 years and realized after 2 million WU's there and me running multiple machines here that I could take my most powerful workstation i.e. <grin> mine and set it up to handle additional projects. So I picked out 6 to add to the SETI one and I am letting BOINC supposedly do its thing and do TSO and get things done. I know I'll slow down on the SETI but nothing like watching knew stuff. In fact I just ordered the final upgrade I can do my system which will be my 4th video card upgrade thankfully this one and last were not at full just released released retail. But it will give me 4x's the GPU power I currently have.

Hopefully my 2 bits will help.

There are currently over 100,00 new WUs. The majority are new
work but I shall also be cleaning up the "tail" of some existing
studies, but NOT 10**7 Turns :-) (yet). Eric.

Every little helps; or as we say in Scotland
'many a mickle maks a muckle'.
We do not support GPU's but who knows......
I just took delivery of my NVIDIA TESLA C2075 today!

You don't take advantage of the extra processing you can use of the GPU for this project? Well then I guess you'll get more out of me when my new workstation gets built as it is time for a major design station build for me. And I'll probably going to drop $25-$30K on the machine all solid state stuff in it.

I wasn't sure where to post, although this seemed a good place to get an answer in a short time. I rebuilt my operating sys. this weekend from XP 32bit to 7 64bit. I had to download BOINC and reattach to all the projects I run. Now the question I have is am I being limited to the # of downloads I can receive? I used to get 2-3 per core. I'm running an i7. I know that # went down when the looooog WU were issued. I haven't seen any of these since I restarted my unit. I also noticed that my computer ID # changed. I don't realy care about that but was just wondering. Ops! just checked my account for computers on my list and noticed the rebuild has a different name. Hope to be able to change that back to pick1. Not sure how to do that, advice would be appreciated. Pick

I think if you merge your computers it would solve some of you problems. Go to your 'My account' page, view the 'Computers on this account', and then click 'Merge computers by name' at the bottom on the list.

I hope this helps,
Wes

Thanks, I did go there and changed the computer name and noticed the domain name was different, but I was a bit timid to change. Not quite use to 7 yet. When I did as you suggested I noticrd that BOINC uses the domain name so I'll go change that! Thanks again!! Pick

well that batch of new WU's has come and gone, and the server's been dry for the last few hours.

Eric, i was wondering if you've got another batch of WU's on the horizon waiting to be released?

Indeed I amout to extend the range of amplitudes down
so maybe the jobs will run longer on average.
Preliminay analysis show many many particles lost
ue to the beam - beam effect at the higher
amplitudes.
(I will also try and run the 1% of 10**7 turns tail,
but only after checking with Igor.)

I also need to complete the intensity scan but I need to do
more analysis beforehand.
