I know a million BOINC credits won't even buy a cup of coffee, but many people have wasted hundreds of hours and lost thousands of credits in the last few days.

One of my computers http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/show_host_detail.php?hostid=9766664 had the _9 iteration of several tasks, and I thought a few hours ago that it was helping to clean out the database of zero byte files.

I didn't realize that some of those WorkUnits had previously been successfully downloaded and crunched by at least 1 host that was waiting for a validation.

e.g.
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1776621 7.3 + 3 hours
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1837803 5.3 hours
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1793416 18.4 hours
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1776892 5.99 + 5.9 hours

http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1765377 19.99 (mine) + 2.44 hours

http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1781803 46.26 + 3.98 hours

Those 6 WUs represent over 118 hours of Crunching time. There are probably thousands more over the last few days.

I am aware that this project has adjusted credit before in exceptional cases, I hope they may consider doing it again in this case.

Cheer up Keith!

I've been on Alpha and now Beta projects that are not mature and stuff happens. Nobody really knows how things will go sometimes and even the most reliable and stable projects have problems...

It's just the way it is... Chit happens...

Nothing personal, but for me, I just smile and send any helpful data I can when there are problems without an obvious reason.

I see you're crunching on an Atom... not the fastest thing in the world...

Soo, since points matter to you, hows about to make you feel better I let you crunch on a slightly more powerful machine for 12 or 24 hours? I do it every month as a prize for the BGB event at overclock.net... when the current winner is done crunching, I would be happy to let you make up some lost points on my 1100T/HD6990 box... you could run whatever you want on a 3.7GHz 1100T and any ATI compatible GPU task on the HD6990 950MHz...

Up to you, but I think that 1100T rig would make you more points in a day than the Atom system could make in a month...

:D

From my side also,
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1773160
my is the "Fertig, als ungültig markiert" SixTrack v443.07
The result was resend 2 times with SixTrack v444.01
Looks like both SixTrack Versions create different results, so the validator can't compare them.
one more samples

found also some package canceled

Would be good to check this. (After the Weekend) ;-)

Ummm, not sure if this is possible, but as others have said, there were a ton of WU's that will never be validated due to problems of one sort or another...

http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/workunit.php?wuid=1773486

I have over 775 tasks, most of which were the zero file length 2 second compute time types that I would LOVE TO SEE ERASED! Of the few long tasks in there, I don't care.

It is possible that once the major bugs are solved that we can sort of wipe the slate clean of error and invalid tasks?

:D

PS: Ya'll doing a great job! Keep it up and don't lose heart!
