Ok, I got a load of really short tasks on the i7-950 box, hurried over to the Boinc-Data directory under LHC Projects and looky looky what I seen there!! There are a bunch of ZERO length task ZIP files in there... and I bet that is the problem with hundreds of "few second long" tasks... Maybe maybe??? I looked in there because I just got a bunch of short tasks again... Just caught this funny download that froze up... more ZERO length files I think... Hope all this helps... I do have a load of GOOD tasks running now... we will see if I get any more shorties.. :) PS: I hope it isn't a router problem on my end or something.... this problem happens on ALL my boxes... |

These tasks are a symptom of the project running out of disk space. Since several servers are 'disabled' I guess the admins are working on it. Christoph |

It's also mentioned over here: http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/forum_thread.php?id=3462 It's the server running out of disk space. |

These tasks are a symptom of the project running out of disk space. Well, disks, even SSDs are rather dirt cheap today compared to 10 years ago... Newegg and TigerDirect counterparts in Europe can sell ya'll whatever you need. Seriously... disk space doesn't have to be so complicated... I hate to see one of my boxes banned because of a server disk space problem.. :) |
