I don't know if it is possible. But in Collatz Conjecture you get to choose which application you want to run. Although they use it for short/long toggle, then you could use it in this project to determine if you only want SSE3, SSE2 or normal one. Since a lot of us probably only got SSE3 machines. This would make the waste of running slower tasks on a faster machine less.

Just a suggestion :)

This is possible in SETI@home running applications made by the Lunatics group. But they are not updated automatically, you must do it manually.
