Does this project still enforce any quota of tasks? One of my wingmen http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/results.php?hostid=9948265 has so far only managed to complete 4 of the 24 tasks it received on 6 June. They all have a deadline of 13 June, 7:43 or 7:44 UTC. I thought that there used to be a quota, but it may have been removed or raised at some time during a glut of tasks, but it would probably be a good idea to re-introduce at the moment as many hosts don't get any tasks some months while others like this Anonymous one struggle to complete the work they do get. [EDIT] I found this old thread http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/forum_thread.php?id=3332 after creating this new one, sorry. I suggest a quota of "In progress" tasks of 2 per core would probably be a good place to start, when a host returns work, either validated or pending it could then get more work if available. This should enable a fairer distribution of the limited work available. [/EDIT] |

At the moment there is a 3 task quota per core (atleast last week it worked like that). And ofcourse on HT cards it will be double that, since boinc sees every core as two. |

At the moment there is a 3 task quota per core (atleast last week it worked like that). I don't think it is currently enforced: http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/show_host_detail.php?hostid=9948265 Number of processors: 2 Tasks in progress: 20 That host is highly unlikely to complete all those before deadline, as his run times for the work completed so far are between 25,002.33 secs and 29,397.84 secs. It is slower than my Intel Atom netbook on the same tasks. |

At the moment there is a 3 task quota per core (atleast last week it worked like that). That host seems to have issues, as I have the same processor and also 64 bit Linux (later version) but I get through the tasks way faster than this host. The Floating Point speed is very poor at less than 900 when mine is around 2500, the Integer speed is also low at around 5000 when mine is around 7000 (no over clock). Plus it has run a lot of errors. Anyway it has missed the deadline on the remaining tasks and they have been resent out. Conan |

At the moment there is a 3 task quota per core (atleast last week it worked like that). When i had 12 tasks last week (2 cores with HT), the program said something like the following when I tried to get work: Maximum number of tasks allowed in progress reached. I can't remember the exact line, since I have restarted the computer since, and there is no work to test it. |
