Или с теми заниями которые уже набрали кворум и прошли валидацию это уже не срабатывает?

именно так

Message 23837 - Posted: 12 Jan 2012, 5:52:32 UTC - in response to Message 23835.

I have been correcting the data base by hand subtracting values from total_credit in host and user tables. I believe all values should be fair now.

If anybody thinks more should be done, please let me know.

Thanks,

Спасибо, Игорь! Статистика уже восстановлена процентов на 80 %. Остались всего лишь участники (сами ни при чём), получившие сумасшедшие кредиты (их пока ещё видно на Boincstats.com) вместе с вредителем по первому эпизоду.

List of participants, who got crazy credits together with Bartonn:
wdsmia - approx. +500K @ 2011-12-21

Galeon 7 - approx. +400K @ 2011-12-21

MrOctane - approx. +900K @ 2011-12-20

Jnargus - approx. +600K @ 2011-12-20

Maybe somebody more, who remained behind me after that attack... :-)

Hi Metalius (and Igor),

these are exactly the users that I found,
list seems to be complete as Bartonn IIRC had 4 WUs with exorbitant claims ;-)

That's right, it all is these. Barton's "сheat" machine produced 4 "cheat" WUs, these 4 users were affected as wingmans on these 4 WU.

The exact excess CR values are(based on WUs data recorded in this post: http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/forum_thread.php?id=3400&nowrap=true#23722 + boincstats.com):
wdsmia - not sure cuz exact value not recorded, estimate is near 515k (533k @ cheat day minus ~15-20k normal CR/day in november for this user)
Galeon 7 - 406,388
MrOctane - 983,069
Jnargus - 615,194

P.S.
By the way what happened in the project 06/26/2007 (or may be day before - 06/25/2007)? When checking the statistics, noted that almost all the "old" users (who was involved in the project at this time) have abnormal large results for that day.

That episode is deep in the past. After few days THIS episode may go deep in the past too. ;-)

Возможно, дело было так... Сервер несколько суток подряд с энтузиазмом раздавал задания (такое случалось в те давние времена), а в самом разгаре расчётов сдох (или сдох валидатор). После воскрешения у всех получился большой слив.

I have now adjusted the total_credit entries in the sixtrack data base for
wdsmia - 500K
Galeon 7 - 400K
MrOctane - 900K
Jnargus - 600K

Sorry guys. Keep on crunching and the scores will come!

Message 23846 - Posted: 16 Jan 2012, 23:49:18 UTC - in response to Message 23845.

interestingly, on 14th of january there was another attempt at the credit sys
from Mr. badgoes. I guess, it is just to test if the system is solid enought.

Thank you for trying. The system is solid.

I have to correct myself here - it was Stelf who was helping with testing.

Apparently, on that computer the elapsed time is ok, but the cpu time is bogus.
As a wild guess, it could be a problem of units (ticks, or frequency wrong).
At any rate, we don't mind, but Stelf - you may want to look at it at some stage.

Thank you.

Thanks for putting my credits back to normal -- I didn't like having credits I didn't earn fair & square.

Igor thank you very much for this action!

However, I would like to kindly ask you also to adjust affected team points, as they are ridiculous.

Here they go:

January's gainers:

November's gainers:

Just look at their "top 5 days" if any doubts...

Should I assume that team total_credit should be equal to the sum of the total_credit of all the team members?

And what about the users that moved from team to team? This can cause a terrible mess. Can You just erase the astronomical credit gains? It is just editing few tables....

Message 23858 - Posted: 20 Jan 2012, 13:32:44 UTC - in response to Message 23857.

I have adjusted:
Pireatenpartei Deutchland -25M (put it at 150K)
Overclock.net -2M
Boinc Synergy -2M
Final Front Ear -2M
Canada -2M
Belarus United -6.5M (put it at 150K)

However, Seti.USA (12.8M) and Czhech National Team (15.7M),
should be both corrected down by 6M based on the statistics provided.

I'm not sure of the consistency of the data base, since the present
scores seem to be quite high and I don't understand them.
Of course, if there are no other ideas, I will just go ahead with -6M.

Just wanted to ask first.

Just finished going through this thread. As I understand it, someone either cheated or something and I was one of four people "wingman" that benefitted with extra credits. How? As far as I know, my computers earn credits for the work they do, not someone else screwing with their own computer. I am assuming that those credits have been taken away since I have lost around 400K, specifically on 18 Jan.

I don't get into the heavy number analysis like several very astute people here do, so I don't know what has happened. To that end I have opened up my computers so perhaps someone can tell me what went on. I thought I was doing honest crunching looking only at my daily totals (admittedly not every day).

Have I got this right and I lost 400K of what I thought I honestly earned?

For those of you that are either only science or only credits...I crunch for both. I have been on this project a long time through both thick and thin available work units. Right now, my heater is broke, but that is no problem as I am heating the house using the computer room. I have put upwards of $40,000 dollars into my systems. I don't take this lightly.

Once more thank you very much Igor for your commitment!

Regarding your question two posts ago - team total points at a point in time are not a sum of points of their current members. The reason is that teams gain points only generated while a person is in the team. If someone has 100k on account and joins a team at this moment a team gains nothing. Once he crunches +1, team gains +1.

Just looking at the stats and knowing that part of gain from 07.01.12 was honest, taking Seti.USA and CNT 6M will make things more or less back to reality.

It is a valid question that must be answered.

The credits are assigned based on the average of the claims from two valid results. Therefore, if one of the valid results claims disproportionate credit,
the granted credit for both is still too high (for example (0+1Million)/2=500K).

Based on the assignment logs I have, I substracted the unreasonable claims
even from these crunches, who where not actively involved in presenting
the unreasonable claims, but got inadvertently assigned high values due to the average calculation.

After two episodes of this game, we started to calculate the credits based on the internal characteristics of the application. This prevents all cheating
and also filters out random/faulty computer clock readings.

I hope this explains. I appreciate the work you do. Please, keep crunching.

I have taken SEIT.USA and Czech National Team -6M.

Please, continue watching the statistics. I prefer the system to do the necessary credit calculation automatically. But since we got involved into the manual correction, we may need to do more adjustments based on the emerging accumulation.
