Now that i joined in on sixtrack, i noticed it´s called lhc 1.0... does this mean i can quit the original lhc project? (since there has not been any work for that project long time)?

or are they two individual projects, and work will come at some time?

edited... hmm just read through some posts... since my boinc now have two LHC projects attached, i noticed that i got the same credits on the LHC 1.0 that i just joined, as i have on my LHC original project.. so as i understand, they are the same and i can dismiss the original, since i got the same, just newer version(so to speak) plz correct me if im wrong..

so whats left for me to do is joining lhc 2.0 (test4theory) when possible?

You're right, you can dismiss the original project.

They are separate projects, you can run both if you wish. Please note that setting up test4theory (t4t) is a bit different from previous BOINC projects. You need VirtualBox. Also the project won't run if you are running BOINC as a service, it needs to be installed under a regular user account. All the details are on the LHC2.0 and T4T sites.

Test4theory (LHC@home 2.0) is a BOINC project. You also have to install the VirtualBox software to run T4T but that's an easy install.

ok.. virtualbox installed, now only boinc wont let me join on the http://boinc01.cern.ch/test4theory/

it says invites only, but i signed up for invite, and hope to get one soon ;)

one question though, boinc always start with my computer(well i never turn it off)

but in case of reboots and so on, do i have to start virtualbox program myself when i start computer, or does boinc take care of it all?

You would be best to read the FAQ on the Test4Theory pages and ask any questions about it in thier forum where there are more knowledable people on that particular project.

You have to select the LHC project by clicking on it then click on Remove. If that doesn't work then it might be because you added LHC via a project manager such as BAM. In that case you will have to go to the project manager and remove LHC via the project manager and probably add Sixtrack via the project manager.

If that does not work then you need to shutdown BOINC client and delete all the LHC related files in your BOINC data directory. The LHC related files will all have LHC in their name. There will be a folder in the Projects folder that has LHC in the name, delete that too. Then restart the client and the LHC project should no longer appear in BOINC manager.

Delete the files before you add Sixtrack because Sixtrack's files have LHC in the name too.
