Message 22919 - Posted: 6 Sep 2011, 23:52:13 UTC

I have been running LHC since Dec. 2005. Things got pretty slow near the 2009-2010. Then when I learned of the resurgence of the program I removed LHC@home and loaded LHC@home 1.0, not wanting to try the virtual box thing. I know it hasn't been running long and I have yet to get any tasks. The last update left me with a new message which goes like this; 9/6/2011 4:30:08 PM | LHC@home 1.0 | Server can't open log file (../log_boinc01/scheduler.log) What does this mean?????? Does this pertain to your end or mine of this connection? Pick

Well, what ever it was has fixed itself. After posting this message I did another update and got 18 tasks. So I guess I'm on my way again. Thanks, Pick

We have started a new major study with sixtrack (LHC@HOME 1.0) and I hope there is enough electricity out there!

I have left the old study to drain the queues a little bit, so some people have experience the lack of work for a few hours. But now it is in full swing again.

The study is based also on the new executable version 530.8 for Linux and Windows. If you happen to check and it is not this version, pls write to me.

(the error message about the scheduler.log can be ignored - this is on my side).

I got a few v530.03 WU when I attached to LHC 1.0. Now I get the messages
06/09/2011 10:51:57 PM | LHC@home 1.0 | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
06/09/2011 10:51:57 PM | LHC@home 1.0 | Requesting new tasks for CPU
06/09/2011 10:52:02 PM | LHC@home 1.0 | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
06/09/2011 10:52:02 PM | LHC@home 1.0 | (Project has no jobs available)

but then for some reason my account shows
Maximum daily WU quota per CPU 0/day

I didn't think it was possible to go below a quota of 1. It must be a bug in the system.

See thread "below"

This is a bug.

I had already reset project on any that said 0/day.

Now i see some still at 10/day and some at 20/day.

We can test the availability of electricity with some work! In the absence of a Server Status page, it is difficult to comment on why so little is happening.

Good Luck.
