At least there are WU\\\'s to run but I don\\\'t get them.
I am manually updating to get some but what I get is this message:
11/16/2010 1:09:10 AM lhcathome Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance

What I see however is a growing number of WU\\\'s to crunch. Have more people this \\\"problem\\\"?
Greetings from,
TJ

Yeah I got a bunch on 2 of my pcs and the other one next to them got nothing.

I usually do have to try and load them every day here but this time they did it themselves.

Some are those 5 second WUs and some are actually going to run for about 25mins until they are done.

One month after the last post on this thread.

There seems to have been a trickle of work units starting November 16th and ending December 13th 2010. Something is still moving...

I wasn\'t sure what your \"goor\" misspelling was meant to be because both \"good\" and \"poor\" make sense to some LHC crunchers. Maybe its a new word meaning both good and poor at the same time :-)

For it is definitely poor because I have not gotten any WUs so far this year and the last ones I got last year were all 5 sec WU\'s giving me .05 credits each :-(

Sorry Jnargus,

It was a typo, I meant good. :-)
After thinking about your post however, poor is not bad at all. As the 2 where to only one\'s I got. And the queue is empty again.

Hello,

Yes, the new year seems to be good for LHC\'s crunchers !
I\'ve got 3 WU on january 7th.
1 failed, 1 gave 0.04 credits and the third one gave 16 credits for 3000 seconds computing time.

As I said in another post : it is better than nothing.

So Happy new year to all LHC\'s crunchers. 2011 will be a good one.

LSa.

18 WU\'s this year, averaging about 9 credits a piece.

My other projects do not feel the pain when LHC gets active, and LHC gets my help when needed. Sounds like a perfect situation...

i received 10 WU\\\'s on 1/7/11, 9 of which took approx. 42 minutes to crunch (using a single Athlon XP 2800+ @ 2.083GHz lol). the outlier was a goofy WU that only crunched for 6.31 seconds, but all 10 results were successful. like rembertw, i averaged ~9 credits per WU, except for the one that only ran for 6.31 seconds.

when i checked the server status just before leaving work yesterday, there were ~500 outstanding WU's (results in progress). this morning i checked the server status again, and there were ~1200 outstanding WU's. so some WU's must have been sent out to clients some time last night. i did not get any of them on my work PC b/c it automatically shuts down around 9:00pm and doesn't start up again until i get back into the office the next day. why my home PC's didn't get any new work i don't know...perhaps all of the new work was both created AND distributed within a time interval shorter than the "communication deferred" time between server queries performed by the BOINC clients on either of my home PCs.

i think that may be an unfortunate consequence of participating in a DC project that has far more attached clients than WU's available at any given time.

ok, i posted the above message a little over an hour ago, and since then, the number of outstanding WUs (results in progress) has jumped from ~800 back up to ~1300. during that time interval, the BOINC client on my work PC queried the server only once, at 17:52:43 UTC to be exact. BOINC previously queried the server at 17:02:14 UTC. i did not get any of the ~500 WUs that were sent out in the last hour...which must mean that those 500 or so WUs must have been sent out in a very short period of time (less than the ~50 minutes that went by between my BOINC-initiated server queries anyways). i can see how people get frustrated when they don\'t get WUs. there seems to be a very poor balance between querying the server often enough to get WU\'s, and querying the server too often...
