Just downloaded and crunched my first ever LHC wu. Estimated run time before start was just over 3 hrs. Actual run time was about 16 sec. on an old P4 2.4GHz. Credit granted=0.05. Are all wu this short or was it some type of benchmark as it was my first? ![]() |

IIRC this can happen if the simulated beam parameters does not lead to a stable beam, such that the beam just crashes into the wall of the detector immediately. |

My second wu is behaving strangely as well, After reaching 100% completion: the elapsed time continued to run, the time to completion was blank, the status still showed as running but no CPU time was shown being used in the properties tab. I have suspended the wu for now. Should I abort it or is this normal behavior?( This extra running only lasted for about 2mins. before I suspended ) ![]() |

I have suspended the wu for now. Should I abort it or is this normal behavior?( This extra running only lasted for about 2mins. before I suspended ) I would let it run. I have several project that stay at 100% for some time before completing. I haven\'t had an LHC for a while, so I\'m not sure if it does it too. I do have a project that regularly gets switched out to \'waiting to run\' while sitting at 100% only to complete when it get a turn at the CPU again. It's not uncommon for cleanup work to need to be done when the main crunching has finished. Questions? Answers are in the BOINC Wiki. Boinc V6.10.56 Recommended WinXP C2D 2.1G 3GB |

Will consider this an anomaly and hope for another wu soon!! ![]() |

Or maybe a system reboot will sometimes will get a stuck WU going again. An abort is only a last resort. |

Another work unit with the same problem. Tried rebooting system after 3.5hrs running at 100% complete. Task restarted at about 95%, crunched to 100% and is still running almost an hour later. Will let it go for another 15mins or so then.... I have crunched this project for close to 12hrs now and have 0.05 credits to show for it. Think its time to move on to something else. ![]() |
