On the home page there is a 04.18.2010 date. In US notation that would be April 18. For us Europeans, what does it mean?

I always thought that March is the 3rd month of the year and April the 4th but maybe in Geneva and Finland time runs faster.

Geneva and Finland are right. It is the rest of the world that is living in the past.

I suspect strongly that LHC has opened a time portal and they aren\'t telling us.
Whomever posts the announcements is actually 1 month ahead of us somehow.

Readers may like to know of a standard in this matter. As I understand it a date for this post could read:

2010-03-26UTC23:07:14

For more information see:

I think all this talk of time travel is premature.

Maybe.
I knew the Spanish version: la Torre de Pisa esta derecha. Lo que esta torcido es el mundo.

It seems that some physicists were teleported by the LHC :))) From CERN to Pisa. Or from NOW to the FUTURE-of-LHC :)) Or...

http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=3197

04.18.2010?
Well, I\'ve some variants:
04.18.2010=04.12+6.2010= June 4, 2010 !!!
04.18.2010=04.1820.10=...

Maybe that\'s another calendar system? 2012-system? :)))

On the theregister.co.uk page there is a news article that some invasion from the fifth dimension is taking place at LHC. But today is Fool\'s day, I believe.

as it is in theory - we should find 10=7+3 dimensions

Man arrested at Large Hadron Collider claims he is from the future
A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.

And yes, it is April Fool's Day. But the story is a good read.

There is another story:

Physicists working on the LHC results have announced their first discovery: a hideous particle from the prehistory of the Universe

Bravo, guys! :)

Interesting... the article stated;
It [the paleoparticle] left horrible tracks inside the detector that made the physicists on duty at the time feel quite sick.

Paleoparticle poop?
