It certainly wasn't me...I'm still standing at exactly 0 WU's for this project.

Not me either. It’s been more than 9 months since my last WU from this project. And my story is certainly not unique.

I would just love to get my first one....LOL !!

I read somewhere (don't ask me to find it) that WU's may start 15 Feb or thereabouts.

Damn...no work 4 linux :P...

I didn\'t know that there aren\'t any Linux apps. What a pity. So now I have to run a virtual machine...

If you blink you might miss them by the way. Both WU's took exactly 45 seconds each to finish and upload.

Now the servers say it's too soon to ask for more work.

I know it sounds crazy but maybe its my processor working ultra fast who knows? I watched the 2 work units start and within 45 seconds they both had finished and uploaded to the servers. I was amazed because they had a finish date of 04 March and I was curious to see how fast they would process. I've allocated LHC 100% of the Resource Share for now because I was anxious to catch work units.

There is no work available to download anymore so perhaps I got test units?

They registered in the BOINC client because under BOINC Statistics tab it now says 0.40 for LHC@Home whereas it was plain old zero before.

I have had a couple before that ran for a matter of seconds. Today I aborted one task that was at 0.34% after 1 hour. It would have taken 8 days of crunching, and the deadline was 7 days.

There is an explanation at the end of this thread: HERE
Also news for Linux users.

STOP PRESS; running some test jobs, very short,
production work to follow. Windows only. Hopefully
a Linux executable next week....More news on Sunday
when I return to Geneva. Eric.

I have one that's been running 8:23:52, a SixTrack 4207.00. It was 66.9 something percent on my E6750 running at 3ghz.

Checked my tasks and count 4. Two were very quick and one was 3,908.64, 17.96, pending.

There may be other issues though.

18070396 Success Done 7.54 0.02 pending

There\'s a big difference in computing time.

There\\\\\\\'s a big difference in computing time.

If I remember rightly the difference is normal for these WUs. For the beam integrity computations we were doing before (and I assume it\\\'s something similar we\\\'ll be doing again) the short runs indicate scenarios where the beam strikes the wall almost immediately and the longer WUs indicate complete (or nearly complete) turns.
Both are valuable from the modelling standpoint. :)
