Wow, it is quiet. However, there is still a huge pool of eager volunteers ready to crunch work when some is available. We'd all love our computing resource be put to good use crunching simulations for the LHC albeit siztrack or what ever comes along. We're all turning blue from waiting for some news. Live long and BOINC. Paul. |

Totally agree. I'm keeping my PCs busy running mainly Seti but would like a few LHC as well! |

Just read that they are holding back the start of the \'Big particle collider.... delayed till October\' http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31466089/ns/technology_and_science-science So we will not have work for awhile? |

The plan is that everyone forgets about the LHC and we get all the work units . So the plan is working so far and the message board lets us know if anyone is still checking in here. LHC_News Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |

Does anyone know if all of the data from the first time that LHC was turned on has been processed? I can\'t remember where I was reading it but I think them had over 1,000 computers and they were still wanting more computing power. Have A Crunching Good day |

Does anyone know if all of the data from the first time that LHC was turned on has been processed? I can\\\'t remember where I was reading it but I think them had over 1,000 computers and they were still wanting more computing power. All data from that time has been processed, and there have been trickles of new data in the meantime. They needed a lot of computerpower at that time because of the Minimum Quorum (3)- Initial Replication settings (5). By now they have changed to a MQ 2 - IR 2 setting which effectively reduces the needed computer power. I assume that LHC will let it be known on the boards if and when they restart, and whether they are in need of extra processors. |

Yes, it is quiet, but we are still on the sidelines, waiting ....... If I've lived this long, I've gotta be that old |
