Mine just hit the daily quota exceeded limit while trying to get some more work, these shorter WU with a HT or a dual could be very easy to hit that wall.

Mine estimates it can do them in 49 mins the actual is about 1 hr for completing both WU using 2 threads.

Ok, 20 is probably too little... I'll make it 50.

On my P4 3.2 with HTT and on my AMD 2600, WU's with a 00:50:21 estimated time are finishing in ~ 00:02:00 to 00:05:00.

A little too fast?

This sound about right?

there is definetely something weird going on.
i installed 4.09 over 4.05 and the client started downloading 50 wus. soon after starting, my internet connection stopped working (don't know why) and all wus were ready to report with cpu time = 0 and claimed credit - of course - zero too. now I managed to be online again (a connection loss never happened to me before; i needed to reboot), and the client started to download 50 new wus. i tried to find out if lhc sended me the same wus 2 times, but it doesn't seem that it is the case.
hmm?

P.S: At the same time, lhc created another host, which I had to merge with the original one (computer id 2411 became 4272).

in order to remain tractable, an example would be wu 31262.
when clicking the result id 142995, it says
"4.09
app_version download error: couldn't get input files:
topOverlay_1.02_.tga: MD5 check failed

0
0"

this md5-bug is something that i already saw when downloading a climateprediction wu. does it mean that my cpu was not able to crunch because the file topOverlay_1.02_.tga was missing (lost during my connection probs)?

I've still run out of work and i cannot receive more due to quotas. I understand quota's are good to prevent huge caches of data on one machine if someone messes up a config setting to download 100 days of work (hehe), but I just wanna crunch WUs ;-). I have a P4 HT 3.0 Ghz. Now some WU's go by quickly -> around 50 min I think. Maybe faster...

I also have BOINC set for 100% LHC for resources. I am a SETI member so I'll use that while I can't get work...

[edit] All the sudded I just received a massive influx of WUs, something definitely was fixed...[/edit]

I just run out of WUs and got the message "daily quota exceeded". I need more WUs to keep my computers happy. :(

mine is crunching wus in about 22 minutes (amd athlon64 3400+). but thats no big deal in quota terms since i also run seti.
cpdn isn't working and I don't have a clue why. maybe it's the new client..

Damn those wu's calculate quick. On my P4@2.GHz they were taking between 30sec and 6min with an average of around 2min. The daily quota sure doesn't last long with those crunching times. I did notice however that as soon as the output file hit 33.74kB the crunching was terminated. On my other machine which got wu's earlier in the day the wu's are taking a 'normal' amount of time for that machine doing 100,000 cycles when compared to the previous 1,000,000 cycles wu's.

I wonder why the difference?

Happy crunching,

Paul.

I have this question also my machine started to get the exceded daily quota at 22:25 UTC on 9-22-04 and its now 16:26 UTC on 9-23-04. Just when will I be able to get new work units? I only have 3 hrs of WU's left.

Daily quota is reset at midnight, server time, which is UTC+02.

The reason is same as in earlier work units: some input parameters make the simulation end soonier as the protons collide to walls. And it is likely that sequential results have similiar input parameters.

I'll raise the quota to 100 results for a while...

Thanks Markku

I just got 47 new WU's at 17:47 UTC now my machine is happy to have 23.5 hrs more of work to process.
