This will mainly interest radio listeners in the UK, but the program is webcast and also available online for 1 week after the broadcast. http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/programmes/drive.shtml It starts at 16:00 local time (15:00 UTC) today. Keith. |

Keep it down but BBC Radio 4 is planning to broadcast for an entire day from CERN later in the year. This will be the first time they have ever done that and EVERY programme will be CERN based (even women's hour) |

The 5 Live show was trailed as if the whole show would be from CERN, but it was a bit disappointing. There was about 15 minutes of recorded interviews during a 3 hour program. The first one was at about 45 mins into the show, the second about an hour later. I will try to get the exact times and post them here if the stream allows this. Keith |

Here is the direct link to the Real Player stream http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/shows/rpms/fivelive/drive_wed.ram. This should be available until shortly after next wenesdays show (About 18:00 UTC on 7th May.) There were 2 sections of around 9 minutes each during a 3 hour show, discussing the LHC and CERN. The stream does allow you to move foreward and backward. First LHC report: 43:30 - 52:15 Second LHC report: 1:34:30 - 1:43:45 Hope this makes it easier for people to listen to the LHC reports without having to listen to the whole show. Keith |

Here is the direct link to the Real Player stream http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/shows/rpms/fivelive/drive_wed.ram. thanks Keith that was a great help to find the clips quickly. I must admit I do find these trite reports very irritating - I'm quite sure more sense can be communicated simply to a general audience by being less silly. In fact the best bit for me was the final follow up minute talking to award winning Wendy Salder of sciencemadesimple.co.uk (websites with a similar name but .com and .net domains appear to be unrelated US ones although with the same idea and purpose behind them.) |

There was a good programme tonight on BBC4 We can\'t get BBC4 over here, even over the Internet. It\'s a licensing issue. \"Sorry, this video is only available in the UK\" American broadcast television seems to consist entirely of soap operas and infomercials. There was a good programme tonight on BBC4 A heads up on that, or any other place we could get it, would be much appreciated. Most of the BBC programs we see on PBS are years old, especially the comedy and sci-fi, and I\'m not sure just how current BBC America is, either.
