Has there been an official date set when the LHC will come online?
I am hoping that she comes online within the next month or so.
I would very much like to observe the effects that this collider is truly capable of producing.
The Higgs boson is the main event, however I am sure different particles will be produced.
Thanks for any info.

The tentative start date of the LHC is next month. However, in recent years, this date has slipped repeatedly due to technical challenges.

When the LHC does go online, I expect it will revolutionize physics especially with regards to the nature of matter.

Thanks for the replies. Whatever the date, the LHC will usher in a golden age of particle physics.
I read recently that funding has been cut from the particle colliders here in the United States.
It seems that adding more ways to tax the American people are more important than scientific research.

In any event, the LHC project will be scrutinized by me for years to come.

Thanks again my fellow enthusiast's

that thing is so huge, it will have accumulated many many small mistakes during construction which you cant avoid (just take one tired engineer an you get two wires mixed up, improperly connected - something...), hence: it will take at least two years to get it running as predicted from the first collisions - especially on the detectors
