Dear Neasan and Alex, looks like I have to add one point to your to do list. I am not able to fetch the scheduler list when I'm connected to the Internet over my UMTS cellular phone. Even in times when there was work around it did not succeed. I participate in three other projects also, and none of them have this trouble. Maybe you can check, if there is some server setting/timeout preventing this? I would like to be able to do my part on the job even when I am under way, which is quite often. Hope you can find something.

Happy crunching, Christoph

Scheduler URL is on the main page inside an HTML comment. UMTS removes all HTML comments to "save bandwidth" (also recompresses JPEG images to make them look horrible).

@Admins: the solution is adding this to your <head>:
<link rel="boinc_scheduler" href="http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome_cgi/cgi">

Thank you for the fast reply and explanation PovAddict. Hopefully the admins see this soon, with beginning of next week UMTS will be my best (and often only) chance to connect to the internet for three month. So I will see when it works. Hopefully soon.

Happy crunching, Christoph

If I remember correctly, this site is not using the latest versions of the BOINC server software. This may contribute to the differences you see between this and other projects.

You remember correctly. It's three years old. I once managed to post on the forums under the admin's account due to security holes, but they still haven't upgraded, nor accepted by offer to help them manually patch the holes.

We know the code is old and all I am going to say is it is not my decision to not upgrade the code and it is out of my hands. I want to upgrade the code I will leave it at that.

p.s. the scheduler should work now fixed it Tuesday

This time I wasn't complaining for the old code, just replying Viking's question...

Hi Neasan, thanks for the update. Just now I'm online over UMTS and yes, it is working. All work uploaded and the normal reply for the scheduler request received. I'm sorry to hear that you are not allowed to upgrade. Hope that will change sometime in the future.

Will the recent spam attack give you more leverage to get the server code updated? Better anti-spam protection is supposed to be one of the benefits, though crunchers might put others higher up the list.
