I just signed on to this project, then saw this blurb on the web site which reads, "Up, out of work 5224 workunits in progress 6 concurrent connections"

So, I would like to know if in fact the project is sending out tasks.

Thanks,

Just look here:
http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=2261
this project rarely has work !
It is very senseful to have other projects on the line like Einstein@home, climateprediction.net, FightAids@home or QMC@home.
An overwiev how often and how many work units were sent out is found here:
http://bluenorthernsoftware.com/scarecrow/lhcstats/

Hope this helps

Thanks, Dr.Mabuse.

An interesting source.

I misssed the flow of work in October, having given up on this project about two years ago. I understand that the plans are to have many more tasks available for processing in 2008, but there is little to confirm this.

Well, I've just checked back and found I've been getting LHC work units about once a week in December, and I don't crunch 24/7 by any means. That's a lot more than when the project really rarely had work.

Just attach to one or two more projects, and you'll always have work (unless the other projects are SIMAP, Predictor or Pirates@home).

SIMAP is now running continuously. Each batchrun brings a lot more of similarities and since more then 1 month there is a continuous workflow.
So this is an autocatalytic knowledge generating process.
Just try and look here:
http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/batchmonitor.php
There are the tasks currently in process displayed.
