I have a workunit that the server thinks that I got, but my client never downloaded. The resultID is 8874855 Right when this happened, there was a hiccup with the LHC servers. The server page says that the result was sent to me at 14 Oct 2007 0:37:24 UTC. Here is my message log:
Those of us who participate with SETI@Home are familiar with this kind of thing happening. The admins at SETI figured out how to resend those resultIDs to the volunteers (or so I recall...someone correct me if I'm wrong)... Just thought you might like to know... Brian |

It's just a setting that has existed for-freakin-ever: <resend_lost_results>. |

I thought that kicked in when the client reported that it disappeared from the state file? My client never saw the download at all, thus my side knows nothing about it... |

Pretty sure the server will resend it regardless of your client state file. I'm pretty sure I've seen seti send me the same work units after doing a project reset on my machine. But I'm assuming LHC hasn't updated their code in so long that this option probably isn't available in their server. According to Neasan (or was it Alex?) they are going to update it within the next couple of weeks. *fingers crossed* - A member of The Knights Who Say NI! My BOINC stats site |

According to Neasan (or was it Alex?) they are going to update it within the next couple of weeks. a) It was according to me b) I never gave a time scale (I'm not stupid) It is the next priority obviously but it won't be 10 minutes of dragging and dropping files(which some seem to believe it is). We now more or less know how this whole think works now and this will make upgrading easier and de-bugging easier once it is done but it won't happen over night. I will investigate this but assume (as POVaddict seems to love mentioning) this will involve the server upgrade. |

Thanks, but it may just give me one more result that ends up being declared invalid. Not sure why I'm getting a 50% invalid rate here now... |

According to Neasan (or was it Alex?) they are going to update it within the next couple of weeks. That tag seems to exist since the scheduler has an XML parser (24/05/2006 22:22:10). The functionality itself goes back to over two years ago, although I have no idea how it was enabled back then. |

According to Neasan (or was it Alex?) they are going to update it within the next couple of weeks. v4.45 and later sends a list of all tasks in a project it currently has, and server-side compares if anything missing. Meaning, it doesn't matter if a task has never been on client before or not. Server-side-support was added 28.07.2005, but for a long time only Einstein@home was using the re-issue-feature.
