@ Dagorath.... I've been keeping up with this thread since I asked my question about setting the cache on my box's. I'm not that eager to to get more WU's even though it would be nice. I think I'll just "kick the client" more often rather than "hammer the server"! But thanks anyway! LOL!

I've just posted this in the Questions & Answers area under Windows as I'm getting this on both of my machines too.

Yeah I am getting that as well, I did manage to get 1 WU but I can't get any more even though there is over 11,000 WU's in the queue.

I'm getting the same message while I have completed my workunit already. I guess the project leaders are trying to give everyone a bit of work instead of a few who get everything. I support this idea completely but it would be nice if the hosts who have allready returned results and have a empty queue could get some new work as well.

I don't think it's even per computer, but per IP address. Only my X2 got a work unit which crashed as the x64 client isn't working properly. My P4 has had absolutely nothing.

It MUST be per IP address. Out of 3 boxs, 2 got 1WU each, one of those wu's errored out after 3secs, and it dosnt matter how much I "kick the client" I cant get a wu on the box that didnt receive 1, or a wu to replace the one that errored out.

It looks like they might have shut it down to fill the queue? It seems to be growing by a few per second as I'm doing refreshes.

Hi,
We are releasing a Press Release today to officially Launch the LHC@HOME move to the UK. So we might expect some new users to turn up over the weekend! Please be nice to them ;-)

So that they have a fighting chance of getting a job to process we changed some of the settings including the daily quota.

We will change things back to normal over the first few days next week...

Happy Crunching (if a little bit throttled for a few days!)

Anyone want to lay odd how long that'll last? For some reason, I thought BOINC projects were interested in performance. Um I've got an idea... Let's build a supercomputer and then put throttles on it.

I got 1 wu on each of my computers that have it as a project. Something that has NEVER happened before and I am guessing I will get another for each.

And I also suspect that they will up the quota when there is more work, which, judging from their post on the home page today, is quite likely ;-)

Looks good to me....

Dora

Yep, I've got an 8 core at at work, a dual core laptop and two single cores at home. Oh well, looks like after the weekend, the open the gates.

I attached a few more multi core machines and they were able to get 1 or 2 work units.

But it does show the up/dl server as disabled.

bugger!
