Up, Out of work
150 workunits in progress
255 concurrent connections

More concurrent connections than WU's........

It appears that the WU's went to the wrong computers this time.

(I should have got 100 instead of just 2 that I finished in 3.5hrs)

Oy vey!

Do you realise that "out of work" means exactly what it says - there are zero workunits available to send?

The concurrent connections has nothing to do with available work. It's just the number of machines "banging on the door" at that instant in time :).

The "workunits in progress" has nothing to do with available work. It's simply a reminder that there are slow (or more likely overloaded) machines out there that haven't yet got around to crunching and returning what they were previously sent - perhaps many days ago. Of course it's also a measure of "resends" that were sent out more recently for work that has missed the deadline or errored out in some way. However, none of that is "available" now, unless there happens to be a need for an odd further resend or two.

It appears that the WU's went to the wrong computers this time.

Why do you think that?

You obviously need to stick your hand up higher next time :).

Cheers,
Gary.

I was under the impression that 'concurrent connections' also included the database accesses related to people visiting the website as well.

I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here.

LOL.......of course that is what it means guys!

I am one of those members here 24/7 (concurrent connections)

You may have noticed I have been here almost 3 years

I have a feeling we had 255 stopping by here hoping that since we are down to less than 200 WU's there could be more here soon (I know better than that)

Believe me when a bunch of WU's appear I have always loaded up my machines and processed them asap and my pc's are not close to being slow.

(and my isp is so fast these days that I have been analyzing about 4000 galaxies each night here........if you know what I mean)

......just figured I would stop by and bs for a minute.........

I think the OP is moaning about crunchers with large caches, i.e. WUs are queued on other crunchers' machines when his machine has been idle for some time and could have completed the WUs by now.

We have been over this issue ("fairer distribution of work") a fair bit already. I suppose the situation will feed the complaints about IR=5.

You too can have the font of your dreams :).

Just try a few BBCode tags to reflect your personal style :).
