This WU crashed, when I tried to maximize the graphics window in Windows XP. It said something like "Cannot create new surface. This program will exit." or something like that. Result. I think we still need LHC@home Alpha project. mars2019.org Manned mission to Mars in 2019 Petition |

Looking into that crash. LHC@home Alpha IS a possibility IF we feel we need it just at the moment we don't, there is work being planned which I can see Alpha playing a part in but we'll see. |

This WU crashed, when I tried to maximize the graphics window in Windows XP. It said something like "Cannot create new surface. This program will exit." or something like that. This problem is well known and I have had it earlier. I have it too with the graphics of climateprediction.net. Seems to be a BOINC problem on reservoing enough intermediate RAM storage for big screens. I had not tested it with a smaller screen resolution of 640*480 but I would like to have someone to test it. Happy crunching ! J. from germany |
