I,ve tried to start LHC@home on my home PC, but during project initialisation BOINC Manager said that windows_x86-64 platform is not supported. What's wrong? I.e. I understand, what is wrong, but how to fix it?! |

For now the only choice you have is to install the 32bit version of BOINC. Or you wait until the server code here at LHC@Home is updated to the latest version, wich works better with the 64bit version of BOINC.. Professor Desty Nova Researching Karma the Hard Way |

Gut! :-) Is that means I will be able to attach my 64-bit OS to this project? |

Gut! :-) It says here: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/apps.php that there are only x86 versions of the LHC client... I recommend installing the 32-bit Boinc software on your host. Windows XP-64 can run 32 bit Boinc Manager and Apps without problems. It's just that there are few projects that have 64 bit clients. regards, sysfried |

Gut! :-) In the case of using the 64-bit version of BOINC, what I meant was that recent server code sends automatically a 32-bit application when no 64-bit application is available, so you can get work (having the 64-bit BOINC installed doesn't mean that you get a 64-bit application from projects). For now, and as Sysfried said, the only option here at LHC is for you to install the 32-bit version of BOINC (this will only change when Alex and Neasan update the server code). actually thats stupid, cause somebody just needs to add the platform and assign it the 32 bit app. no need to force people to use a 32bit manager software and be NOT able to run ANY 64bit clients |
