Message 17519 - Posted: 23 Jul 2007, 14:26:33 UTC - in response to Message 17455.

Only one little thing:

On the Result page the incomplete results Deadlines have a bright Green as a font color who is to be read with the gray background very heavily.

Browser with this behavior: IE7, Safari for Windows beta

With Firefox 2.0.0.5 for Windows are all the Deadlines black?

Who's right?

Actually only Safari(Mac and Win) is picking that up as it is poor HTML that I have to go fix.

I got a new box at home (Yah!) and I tried to send myself my account key. No errors, but the email never arrived. I know that it wasn't blocked because the ones from all my other projects came through.

I just reset my password, so I should be able to attach from home but it seems like your email scrip is still buggy.

I don't suppose anyone has ideas about the need to login everytime? I still have to enter my email and password eaach time I power up my PC but this is the only Project I have to do that for - I didn't need to do it before the redesign.

I'm not having that problem; my account stays logged in even after re-starting the computer. However, I'm using ie7 on Win XP -- other configurations my react differently to the redesign.

Also not happening on AMD Opteron with Firefox and Linux Fedora Core 3, account stays open all the time (many weeks).

Same problem here, the login cookie seems to disappear.

The new layout seems to hide an error message though which
might be related to the problem. Immediately after logging
in with the account key, some bold black text appears but
then the new layout pops up and that error text isn't
visible anymore.

Unfortunately this message isn't there long enough to read
it so I cannot tell what it says :-/

p.s.: Inspecting my cookie file shows that I do not have any
cookie from a server with "lhc" in its name. The account key
doesn't appear under a different server name either so it
is not surprising that the login isn't persistent.

The server does have cookie permissions.

A problem might be, if the server tried to set that cookie for
a different server name, cross-server cookies are not allowed.

OK I have fixed a lot of problems I believe with this latest upgrade of the design. Width problems on the forum should be gone, staying logged in should work now, jump to last read post should be back etc...

I have also tried to keep the site XHTML and CSS compliant. There are a few pages here on the forum that need work but all in all it should be mostly compliant.

As per usual keep the comments and other problems coming.

Thanks,
Neasan

If you really managed that, send patches to BOINC! (although you would have to use recent code as a base for the patches to be accepted :P).

It seems the jump to last read post is an elusive beast!
It's not working for me :-(

The cookie query works fine btw., if I add a cookie
with an editor, the lhcathome site accepts it and
logs me in with the auth key.

Maybe you could try to contact the people of Climateprediction@home ;-) For a loooong time jumptolastread didn't work, but since two or three months ago they finally made it work :-)

1. I can't log out of my account, so my friend isn't able to log in to his account on my computer.

2. I can't change my avatar image, forum prefs, or sig.

FWIW -- I don't think this is a "new" issue, it seems like this condition has existed for some time. Short of you "detaching" your computer from the project, then re-attaching with your friend's account, I'm not sure there's a way to do what you desire ...

I guess "log out" is about browser login / account
editing, not about cruncher attaching.

Besides a PHP session ID, LHC doesn't set any cookies
so "log out" cannot work either.

On a positive note, the home page is much better, only one error now, which appears on all LHC pages, and which will be dead easy to fix.

What one error?

I can't see anything when I run it by the W3C

OK, yeah, it's fine now. The error was about the html element missing an xmlns attribute, but I notice the page's source code now includes this, hence the disappearance/absence of the error.

Also thanks for the quick work on changing the BOINC logo.

May the (unified) force be with you.

The logo change was quite simple to be honest, only had to change one URL.

The xmlns attribute only started coming up when we moved to the live server but it's fixed now.

Any other pages people come across which aren't compliant post them here, the forums are a mess due to signatures though :-/
