OK because of the "interesting" way BOINC's website is set up there might be one or two bugs in the new site (I hope not though).

So if you notice anything weird when surfing/posting/ doing whatever you do on the site just throw it up here.

Any dead links etc is also appreciated I think I got them all.

The most likely problem will be something about "headers already being started by.." This I can fix easily so just tell me what page you are on e.g. forum_reply.php and I'll go fix it.

EDIT:
An example of the problem outlined above:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/forumheader.php:12) in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/forum_post.php on line 37

So just copy and paste such errors in replys to this post.

Thanks,
Neasan

maybe not a 'bug' per se. When I first went into the NC forum I tried to change the sort criteria and got:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/forumheader.php:12) in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/forum_thread.php on line 40

Started to do a note, and was prompted to log-in, once I logged in I had no problem changing the sort criteria without seeing the message.

Weird?

Got one here, trying to create a profile with a pic (Win XP Home SP2):

Fatal error: Call to undefined function imageCreateFromJPEG() in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/inc/profile.inc on line 322

edit: tried to update my profile and add a pic, same result.
Also escape characters were added before the single quotes in my profile, each edit I have to remove them. Not really an error (I'm old enough to understand the need for escape chars) but something to be aware of.

A note on the cosmetics of the 'my results' page. Each row is spread out over four lines with quite some linespacing in it. For 20 results that means 2 full pagescrolls (XP SP2, IE6, little make-up) needed to show them all. Let alone if one day LHC were to decide to show 50 results at once, something I personally prefer above just 20.
Some minor flaws (empty lines) in the header too.

[edit] My computers is even worse with 4 - 5 hosts per page (screen). The Your Account page could also use a make-over as can the homepage. And I can only imagine what the pending credits page will look like...
In general the linespacing could be quite a bit less in my opinion.
My browser is set to a normal character size @ 1280x1024.

Not sure this qualifies as a bug, but the forum seems to be locked at 800 pixels wide despite of my desktop settings (1280 x 1024 in Windows XP SP2). This occurs in IE7.0.5730.11, Opera 9.21, and FF2.0.04

View Source shows all items as width=100% though, so I guess this might be a CSS issue?

Also, for some reason, Opera is showing a horizontal scroll-bar while I type this because of an empty cell to the right of this textarea.

Also noticed that on the 'Country Statistics' page, the link to the 'location of users on world map' link doesn't work.

Message 17223 - Posted: 4 Jul 2007, 0:19:15 UTC - in response to Message 17198.

The ratings buttons and 'report' buttons in the forums are not working.

When I click on the 'report' button, it brings up the comment box, but once I submit the report, I get 'User with id FORUM_MODERATION_EMAIL_USER_ID created but nothing returned from DB layer'.

Also, though not a forum bug.. The request team founder transfer feature is not active in the teams.

Yeah know about that not sure what to do with that so may kill it until I find out what the hell generates it.

I'm looking at all the other errors now.

Comment about looking weird in FF on Linux by jbs

OK I'll look into this don't see why that should be happening at all, is it just a blank white page with the stuff listed as if ignoring the CSS?

Weird?

Yes and it is something to do with cookies and how the site handles them, 100% on the todo list.

Both of these pre-date the redesign and I will get Alex to look at them.

OK this was due to a hangover from the original CSS (line height was set to 1.5em and I just kept that) and a hangover from the CSS I originally designed but IE didn't like. I have reset the width of the content container and removed the line height setting so it should be a bit nicer looking.

Again CSS hangover from IE breaking CSS, It should be now fixed and I have removed any restriction on the size of the forum so it will fill your screen. This should remove the scrollbar in Opera too. I see the blank box too and I think it is to do with the "Reply to this post" table cell if you look at the messages below when your typing a reply will see if I can find out where to specify this cell to span two cells.

I don't think the ratings worked before the redesign either. That other error also used to come up on the old forum so think it is a seperate issue but will look into it.

Jump to first unread post is broken. I just checked my prefs and it's set to that.

I swear I had an avatar before. But with so many projects, it's hard to remember what I have where. Regardless, uploading one doesn't work

Fatal error: Call to undefined function gd_info() in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/inc/image.inc on line 7

All the titles for the title bar read LHC@Home. They usually have the name of the forum thread or the page you're on.

Ugh... my knowledge of CSS is rudimentary at best so I may have the wrong terms. But I think something is overflowing its container on the front page (and the "Your account" page). I see the navigation part then all the other information is below it.

It may be my funky wide screen laptop though.

(1280 x 800)

This is on FF 2.0.0.4 running on Vista.

Screen cap...

I was trying to see if Jump to new thread wasn't working because of my configuration, and deleted my Avatar by mistake. Now I can't upload the Avatar. It gives the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gd_info() in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/inc/image.inc on line 7

EDIT: This is in IE7 and FF 2.0.0.3/4(linux).

EDIT2: When I tried to login (using account ID) I got the following error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/header.php:10) in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/login_action.php on line 84

However, despite the error, it loged in!

It is not your laptop looking at the screen cap you have it is ignoring the new CSS and using the old one (the red headings are a dead give away) can you hard refresh the page(ctrl+F5 usually)?

This seems to be a problem for a few people that the old CSS is still being cached so you're not seeing the new design a refresh should fix it

Yeah. Looks good now.

I should have thought of doing the forced refresh.

Thanks forum looks good now in Opera and FF, but in IE it renders very slightly wider than my screen width, resulting in a horizontal scroll bar.

In all 3 browsers, the initial page (http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/) still seems to be restricted width (looks like it is set to 1024 pixels wide).
