Shhhh, hopefully it'll go live tomorrow, the delay has been partly due to the "features" of IE

I know what you mean, nowadays it's more difficult to make a website work in both FF and IE, than to create it.

Trust me I had it working in FF(Mac/Win), Opera(Mac/Win), SafariMac/Win), Camino, Netscape end even Shiiro but would IE play? Oh no

I guess that FireFox and the other programs work similar to IE, but being older and somewhat 'set in my ways', I dunno if I could (re)learn all the tricks necessary to make a different browser work. Tried Netscape for a while, and it seemed to work well, but the ompany I was working for at the time pitched a big fit about not being totally committed to IE - so I and a few others had to follow the pack ...

To be honest I know where you coming from but to be honest FF runs more or less the same as IE but with things like standards taken into account, I suggest downloading it and just giving it a day, it will even import all your bookmarks from IE so you will have all that information.

It also has plugins which you don't need but are handy like spell checking/dictionary as you type in your browser window/forms and you do start using them more and more as you find them.

Go on give it a go ;-) hell even try Opera instead.

Do I smell some fellow Opera users?? The very fact that you are even testing your new look in Opera just might let me forgive your misspelling of the word "color"... just maybe :)

I always enjoy listening to FF users bragging about some new cool plugin that lets them do something new... and then telling them that I've had that functionality in Opera for 3 years. Not to say FF isn't a good browser... I just fell in love with Opera before FF was popular and see no reason to change yet :)

I've been testing in Opera because that's what you do when working on a website design (in my opinion) and so I always have it installed.

I suppose if I'd come to Opera before FF then I'd be pimping that but it is the plugins which raise FF for me from Gmail notifer, web developer toolbar, colour picker, IE tab, adblocker, remove it permanently and Flickr uploader to name the ones I use every day.

However I will not put down Opera, it's what runs the web on my Wii and DS (if I could be arsed paying £30 for a web browser) and it isn't IE.

I would like to mention I even use FF on my MacBook and while Safari is good it is still in some respects Apple's IE(i.e. bundled software some users will use by default) and so choose to use an alternative browser.

Just don't get me started on Outlook, Thunderbird FTW. Actually don't get me started on Microsoft, Macs FTW.

Despite Opera is the best in sticking to the standards, extent of it's global use is pitiable. Otherwise, far less work could have been done at making websites, IMHO. /Opera lover/

edit: say WOW: a new look is here ;)

Well as you can no doubt see the new look is live.

To be honest it has been constructed by a little brute force but I have a better knowledge of the "system" the BOINC server uses now so it will get a back up clean up while staying the same cosmetically.

EDIT:
Of course as soon as I get it up I find a problem

Double Edit: Fixed I hope

Neasom & Alex, thanks for all the hard work you put in to get this site back up. I like most of the new designs look. Simple and clean without resorting to any new layouts that I have to re-learn.
Let's crunch for our future.
