in BOINC Manager, Receiving Message: 6/4/2007 6:49:54 AM|lhcathome|When convenient, detach this project, then reattach to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/ I cant "Detach". project has "detach" greyed out. I've attached to project again (creating a duplicate) and that 2nd copy allows me to detach. but 1st will not. Any Suggestions? ![]() |

Or he uses BAM. Whatever your Account Manager is, you need to detach there. Actually, BAM took care of this automatically. I would think Grid Republic would too, eventually. BAM changed the URL on their end, and then automatically detached and reattached all clients. ![]() |

I am using the Boinc Manager (BAM), the button to "Detach" is greyed out. I have tried to attach and created a 2nd copy of LHC. I can (and have) "Detach"ed from the 2nd one... Problem is I can not "detach" from the original one because button is Greyed out. There are 5 commands in the Projects tab: 1. Update 2. Resume 3. No new tasks. 4 Reset and 5. Detach (which is greyed out any other suggestions? |

If you are using an account manager like Bam you need to use it to detach not the Boinc manager. ![]() |

any other suggestions? Any projects "attached" by an Account Manager should be detached by going to the AMS's website. If you're detaching in client, AMS will just re-attach you next time you connects to AMS. For this reason, detach is greyed-out in the client for these projects. Anyway, it's still possible to manually delete the account_*.xml-file for a project and re-start BOINC-client. "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |

I tried detaching both via BOINCView and BAM. Even after running the BAM Account Manager in update mode on the local client, the Project did not detach. I ended up logging onto the local computer, detaching BAM, detaching the Project, reattaching the Project and then reattaching BAM. ![]() |

Thanks to all who tried to help in the "can't Detach" problem. I tried them all to the best i could. The suggestion to manually delete the "account_*.xml" worked. I did a search for "account_*.xml" on my C: drive. and found multiple hits. realized it was the account_LHC entry in the C:\\Program Files\\Boinc entry that needed to be deleted. I deleted it. Restarted Boinc Manager. LHC no longer there... Attached to Projects in the Tools option...and attached to Lhcathome... ALL is now OK. lhcathome now has the Command "Detach" highlighted. ![]() |

Wow, You have alot of computers... all in Pakistan? Looks like probably all the same computer. He's a victim of the duplicating hosts bug. Notice how most of them have 0 (or very few) credits? ![]() |
