I got this warning message using this url
http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_forum.php?id=3

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect] : Too many connections in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/inc/db.inc on line 16
Unable to connect to database - please try again later
Error: 1040Too many connections

Maybe you can increase the limit ?

Woohoo!

As for bugs... here is a biggie that you are probably aware of: XML stats export :)

However there is one somewhat related issue. It looks like the main project files have moved from http://lhcathome.cern.ch/ to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/

While this isn't a huge deal it DOES mean that stats sites like mine will have to change their import scripts to find the XML files since http://lhcathome.cern.ch/stats/ gives a 403 error but http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/stats/ at least exists and has the db_dump.xml file in it so I'm assuming this is where the files will eventually appear.

here's my addition to this thread.

When one clicks on an team link in the older threads in the cafe/team forum, one can click on an old style link which does not have the 'lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/' format of the new server, which results in a
"403 Access Forbidden" page.

"Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 403
lhcathome.cern.ch
Sat Jun 2 09:33:12 2007
Apache/2 "

I recommend updating Apache's 403 error page to suggest that perhaps the user clicked on an old format link.

I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here.

While this isn't a huge deal it DOES mean that stats sites like mine will have to change their import scripts to find the XML files

IIRC the Boinc servercode stores the actual location of the stats (which may be variable for different servers) in a central xml-file that is stored at a fixed location. So the scripts should not use a fixed location for the files but the info the projects give.

Yeah... except that "fixed location" is the db_dump.xml file in the /stats/ directory of the HTML base - the same place as the stats XML files :)

This came up when I tried to view the top_teams page:

Ratings don't work, and the red-x appears to work but crashes on submission.

When I attempt to merge hosts, instead of a table full of hosts, I just see the header row:

name | created | computer ID

Is this a known problem?

It's not a bug that is a list of all hosts active in the last 30 days which since the project hasn't been sending data means you see none of them so click "Show all hosts" or click here

Not really a bug, but:
6/26/2007 3:24:50 PM|lhcathome|Message from server: platform 'windows_x86_64' not found

Normally he project should send out the x86 app to a x64 client in case a special 64 bit version is not found. It doesn't seem to work, although I can't test it because there are no WUs ready to crunch :(

Thanks for your efforts so far!!!

The server needs to be updated before it will send 64bit clients anything. You will see a different message once that happens "no work from project" probably. The maximum defferal should be 4 hours once the platform is recognized as well.

Is there any reason that someone knows of as to why my preferences say "Show Computer" but Boinc Stats says the computer is "Hidden"?
Is it a LHC problem or a Boinc Stats problem?
Or should I wait a day or two to see if the problem rights itself?

Wait several days. Willy said he was turning off host imports from this project until he had a chance to check the files.

Yep, it is definitely on his end. I actually didn't do anything to prevent hosts from importing so my site caught an update and your computer is clearly visible :)

Thanks for the responses, I will let it go and if I need to check that particular computers stats, I will go to the other available sites to have a look.
