Since more than 2 month there is no information or work do be done. So I believe the project is dead, and I stop watching of it.
Sorry.

Sorry. Martin

Where is the love?.. the unconditional love for the project? Oh, I guess that's just me and about three other lhc members... maybe four... five at most.

Sayonara Martin.

I keep watching these pages nearly everyday, but since I am going to cut down on this, LHC will also have a lack of my attention.

Releasing some wus without stating what happens, not watching the boards etc. is a bad joke. All other projects encounter problems too (see Seti and Einstein recently), but they try to keep the communication up. LHC is a mess under the new moderators, that's sad but a reality. And being realistic has nothing to do with the love for this project. I joined early, love this screensaver and the idea of the project, but the way we are treated is beyond my level of tolerance. We supply crunching power and get NOTHING back in return since the switch started: NO information, NO credits, NO discussion.

Time to cut down on LHC.

Agreed!

If the admins ever decide to return to this project, they just may send out some sort of newsletter, otherwise I won't check the site anymore.

I'll disconnect my hosts within the next few days. It's been nice, but not nice enough. Have a good life everyone out here !!

I think, there are more projects avialable that requires and renders our outstanding service. Probably I´ll look some times in the future, how or if this project has evolved. Than I will decide again. By by !

If you leave quickly you can take your time coming back.

Quickly? I've been a LHC member for 2 1/2 years... This is not a quick decision.

I think I might be jumping ship too if my birthday wish isn't granted.

Why all this drama? Why not simply leave your hosts attached, and receive work if and when it becomes available? It doesn't hurt you to have your machines pinging LHC once in a while for work. Why must everyone act as if LHC is out to offend them personally?

As much as I would love to participate in the project, I want to know that my participation in said project is appreciated.

The only form of appreciation I need is just to have my stats exported.

If you can't do that, you don't appreciate my participation, and I no longer have a desire to participate in the project.

End of line.

for me it's not only and not primarily a matter of stats, but I want to know what is going on, what I crunch for and what the progress is. If I cant get that information, I don't want to crunch for a project, so there is no need in keeping my pc attached. The temporary nature of LHC as such is thus not the problem for me, since I also crunch for SIMAP. But the lack of info and non-reaction to all forum discussions is the source of my decision to stay away for some time.

Gee..... can I please have some cheese with that whine....? :D LOL

Dontcha think that they ppl working behind the scenes to get "LHC 2.0" up and running have far more important things to and worry about then to make sure a bunch of stat junkies get their fix....

Why not invest some time in learning how to use the WAP stats feed to parse current stats in almost real time which ARE working and ARE NOT affected currently by LHC's slow rebuild process?

See my sig below for an example.

Problem solved.

I have the feeling that nobody "is working behind the scenes to get "LHC 2.0" up and runing"...

Do you want to get banned for 31 years, your account and credits deleted at a Boinc project ? Predictor@home is your best choice.

Costs nothing to have a machine attatched with a few percent quota allocated to LHC, wu's come along, so you get one, they don't, you don't. Your other projects use the quota that LHC is not using, they gain.

Typically I have 1-2 of the "intermittent" projects attached to each of my crunchers.

If you want to be alerted when something gets posted as news, subscribe to the RSS feed, although I have to say, the RSS feed from LHC has a habit of regurgitating old news from time to time.

Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

It's a simple request, and if it can't be fixed (after a year of not having it) I have no intentions on devoting my network of computers ANY more time to LHC.

Apparrently the people running the show here have either forgotten about us, or have the idea that they don't have to make us happy to get what they want.

In either case, I'm done. I don't like being 'used' and then thrown away like a used condom.

There are a few valid reasons to leave the project, like the project admins/mods or whatever not giving any updates. I would like more updates on what's happening; the last update was over 2 months ago.

There are other projects I participate in that have had their share of problems, like SETI which has been without a science database for over a week now; the project admins do update on what is happening and why.

I am sticking with the project, for now.

It´s interesting, that no admin took part on the discussion within the last 2 days. It seems, I layed my fingers in a wound, as there are so many replies. I think very much the same like Aaron Finney and B-Roy. I agree with you, that this behaviour of the admins is some sort of disrespect to the people, who operate neccessarily this lucky stupid computers.
Good luck !
