I get this message from the LHC server: 03.01.2007 13:16:13|lhcathome|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user 03.01.2007 13:16:13|lhcathome|Requesting 16492 seconds of new work 03.01.2007 13:16:17|lhcathome|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 502] 03.01.2007 13:16:17|lhcathome|Message from server: No work sent 03.01.2007 13:16:17|lhcathome|Message from server: (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated) 03.01.2007 13:16:17|lhcathome|Message from server: No disk space (YOU must free 1737.3 MB before BOINC gets space). Review preferences for maximum disk space used. 03.01.2007 13:16:17|lhcathome|Deferring scheduler requests for 1 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes and 0 seconds I have set this preferences: Disk and memory usage Use no more than 8 GB disk space Leave at least (Values smaller than 0.001 are ignored) 0.1 GB disk space free Use no more than 80% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 60 seconds Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory The free space on the disc is >21 GB and the only bigger thing is climate prediction with a usage of 2.44 GB. Now what is the problem here? greetz, Uli |

I get this message from the LHC server: I had the same problem with linux boinc 5.7.5 with 19 Gb free, set to use no more than all of it,leave less than none free, 100% 100% 100% .I ended up going back to windoze on that pc, which I definitely don't recommend ;) |

I get this message from the LHC server: Very interesting. What BOINC Client are you using? Can you switch to the Disk Usage and tell us what the BOINC Client says there? Regards, Sysfried |

Ulrich Metzner, what's your total space on your disk? Maybe the "use no more than 80%" is the cause. |

I'm using BOINC client version 5.7.5. looks good to me... No clue other than suggesting the 5.8.0 client: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.8.0_windows_intelx86.exe Have you tried to move some data off the partition and check what boinc does? Regards, Sysfried |

Some points to consider that commonly get overlooked: Have you recently changed your settings on any of the projects (the most recently updated prefs get used) or on your account manager (if you use one)? I would suggest double-checking where your prefs are being loaded from by looking in the "Messages" pane. (I had a similar issue with WCG and freaked out when it asked for 17.5 GB only to find the prefs were not being loaded from where I thought they were) Don't get distracted by shiny objects. |

The only thing changed was, that i had set the project to no more work last year before christmas. I simply reenabled LHC to get new work and the error occured. I have absolutely no idea what to do... greetz, Uli |

Im not having any problems with cc5.8.0 so it might be worth changinging to that client and maybe that will jog it back to life. But as POV pointed out, the ' Use no more than 80% of total disk space' might be the problem. When I compare your settings to mine : Use no more than 5.0 GB disk space Leave at least 0.1 GB disk space free Use no more than 95% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 60 seconds Use no more than 90% of total virtual memory the only noticble thing different is mine is at 95%. Since you don't have work for LHC you may want to try just resetting or even reattaching to LHC. :) Steve 98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8 |
