As you can read on the frontpage, there will be work soon :-)

Also from myside Welcome to this project and I hope on a good 'team-work' with you...

As I'm swiss I was proud to help CERN (a swiss project !). But I think, even the admins have changed, my help will be the same....crunching of as most as I can of LHC-WU's :-)

Waiting patientely for the next outcome of work

I know photos of people unpacking boxes of electronics is the new geek porn, but it still does yer heart good to see someone happily setting up rows and rows of brand-new racked machines and putting a LHC@HOME sticker on them.

And they speak proper English, like what I do ;), with esses not zeds in words like 'realise'. Lovely.

Let's get out there and slay them ^^

Crap! Do they also use that strange and incorrect spelling of "color"? If so I'm not sure I can continue to support this project! :p

Oi I had to test how robust the system was with regards to "strange characters" e.g.

quotation marks etc.. and if I needed line breaks. :-D

I still haven't worked out how to post links on there but once I'm in full control of the site it'll all be cleaned up. I didn't think anyone would notice me messing around, did you notice I also broke the page a few times testing certain things out and that the news piece was actually posted paragraph by paragraph ;-P

Would anyone object to "No txt spk" being added to the box of rules on the left of page when you're posting a message?

I must agree. My opinion:I find it childish and annoying and it has no place in a scientific project forum.

[edit]I would like to add that shorthand (e.g. BTW) if perfectly ok, IMHO[/edit]

And some have them have short tempers and big sticks.

More seriously, I'd vote for such a rule, so that non-native English speakers and bad-tempered literate old fogies like me can follow discussions. Many international message boards have a rule along these lines for just this reason.

(PS Clownius: if you make so many typing errors, it's not the English language that needs changing, but your typing technique.)

Lolz ok so i 2 finger bash... i know my networking and Linux, build PCs and help a lot of my team mates out with all of that so i think i can be forgiven for not learning to touch type. Actually most of the best Computer techs i know don't have a clue how to touch type but like me they 2 finger bash and do it at 40-50 wpm.
