Server Status

Up, 14,968 workunits to crunch
39,053 workunits in progress
46 concurrent connections

Well Happy Holidays to you all!

It must be my Happy Chanukah since after 2 years of the LHC project this is the most wu's I have ever got in one week not to mention how using this dual processor P4 3.2 and a P4 2.5 is much faster than back in the PIII 500 days!

Back to work!!

Ugh my Core 2 Duo went a little crazy and grabbed 41 Wu's. From my calculations its going to really close finishing em all by deadline, but ive only crunched 2*1/3 of a Wu so far so it may end up slightly shorter.

WOW -- WOW -- WOW !!

Talk about a Yuletide Feast! Almost like getting money from home without writing!

As long as they keep us busy, and from the notes recently left on this board by the new ADMINS, I for one am willing to wait to the New Year, when they can correct the 'count and progress' subroutine once and for all ...

WOW!

Since I started here that is the most I have ever seen on the "concurrent connections" total.

I'm surprised these wu's are still here.

And as most of you know this month has had more wu's for us to do than ever.

And yes,I just loaded enough to keep my machines busy

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I guess in the process of getting ready for this move in January, they've found a couple of jobs "laying around" that need to be run before that happened (LOL).

Not really, I'm sure, but I'm also not complaining a bit about the available work. Makes me wish I had the parts to get my other "garden" machine back into operation. Anyhow, there's still a large amount out there - enough for everyone to get a share ....

--And if I forget between now and then, Copper Top and myself would like to take the opportunity to wish each and everyone out there a wonderful and prosperous New Year --

And still reach the deadline?

Seriously, I hope they add cache limiter or some other mechanism in the future.

POV -

Have you downloaded any of the new work issued on the 29th of December? If you are off for the Year End holidays, it would be worthwhile to stop by the office long enough to let your machine accept some work - there's a lot to go around - about a 100,000 packages total from what I read.

Happy New Year to you and your family ....

Got a day's worth on each of 2 boxes. That's enough for me, there's more to BOINC than just LHC ;-). Front page says there are still over 40k more WUs to send.
(some sarcasm sneaks in) What's wrong with that?
- Are all those huge caches full?
- Is it still a secret LHC has work again?
- Is everybody behaving nicely and just taking (or: getting?) a decent amount?
- Aren't there that many LHC crunchers (anymore)?
- Is there simply more than enough work (1 WU = 5 results, right?) to last at least this long?
- Are a lot of comps still on the dreaded 1 week timeout?
- Some (all?) of the above?

Just thought I'd mention that the timeout has been reduced to 24 hrs instead of a week. I'm not sure which version this was done. It's definitely in the current Boinc Alpha test release.

I think KAMasud may have hit the nail on the head ... all the "suck-ups" weren't expecting another chunk of work before the New Year, so all their machines are full up with other projects, and BOINC won't let them "overcommit"

This is the one reason why I refuse to "micromanage" my machine(s) - BOINC does a wonderful job of scheduling work and searching for new work without my poking and prodding; it ain't broke, so I'm not going to mess with it

It looks like the last Wu's to get issued are all worst case Wu's. Like a few seconds before they halt cause the particles crash. Im going through em like a RED hot knife through butter. I hope theres more to feed my hungry beast soon.

On a second note has anyone noticed and update to the homepage? About LHC@HOME? Ive never noticed it before (i visit daily) or its appeared tonight (im certain). Maybe the migration has started early :). Although if LHC works like other projects ill have to reduce its resource share lol. i set it up so it turns full time to LHC when it has work but don't really wanna crunch full time all the time lol. I got other projects to feed on :) If anyone has an update id love to hear about it.
