My feelings exactly!
Only once in recent memory have i been awake in this time zone to see (much less download) work. Real good sign.

Yep - I was lucky to visit the LHC page and notice that as I had set the project to NNW on both my attached hosts.

BTW: Even if the stats aren't up to date (ex. BOINCstats, etc...), it is worth to crunching here...for science !!! :)

... "Ready to send" count is going up!

Yep, over 8000 WU (40,000 results) were fed into the server between 2300 and 0300 UTC. Ready to send rose to a max of about 11,000 results, so all our boxes were taking them off the server at only about 75% of the speed they were going on.

I don't know if it was deliberate or not, but the feed-in time of four hours meant that everyone on a 4hr deferral would have had an equal chance at that work.

Anyone who was on a 1-day or 7-day deferral needs to click update before all the work goes (these long deferrals only happen if you have had a network outage without telling BOINC to suspend network activity) (happened to one of my boxes this time round)

As I post the last few thousand are being taken -- either by fast hosts coming back for more, or by manual intervention from folks who detach from LHC between times of work. They'll all be gone by 1100 UTC, maybe by 1000.

Source of info, Scarecrow's Graphs. (Please note, his website will be offline on 19th Nov, 0600-1900 UTC for pre-planned maintenance).

agreed, and one day the stats will be updated, and then all this work will be counted. Think of it as good science and also as a good exercise in delayed gratification on the credits ;-)

Server Status

Up, out of work
9155 workunits in progress
40 concurrent connections

For some reason I just got 12 wu's on this pc about 20 minutes ago!!

I wish I would have been on to load some more on this one and the other one I have running right now.

Once the ready to send number drops below a certain number it switches to "out of work" status, even if there is still work ready to send. This is because that counter is delayed some and we don't want false expectations.

SHUCKS ! -- Missed that packet of work. All my machines were looking every three-four hours, and none hit at the right time. Oh well, there's always the next time ....

Indeed. :P

This is why you "feel" a sense of community here, as well as seeing how dedicated people are to LHC, CERN, science and crunching in general.

I hope all of the usual suspects (forum posters) got some work.
