Checked this link New server: report broken links etc here and this link
When you see work is around ... but didn't find an answer.

So is any one else having trouble getting results back to LHC? If you know how to get around the problem, I'd appreciate an idea?

Thanks

Yes, a lot of us are.

Well, a lot of those lucky ones who got any tasks issued in the first place ;-)

This is another symptom of the Error 1040 issue that prevents the forum working and prevents people connecting to get work.

Please don't do anything - be patient and the client will keep trying at random intervals ranging from 1min to 4hrs. The client does this so that everyone doesn't all rush in together, which would cause another Error 1040...

In the unlikely event that you get into the last few hours of the deadline, use update on the manager to try to force the task to be reported; ditto if you genuinely have to take the box off the network or something.

But unless it is a case of reporting now or losing the work, please let the client re-try in its own time.

Thanks, I'll wait and see how it goes. One of my boxes has put LHC on hold for a week :-( but I'll give it a couple of days and try again.

My apologies, if you have hit the one week deferral, then my previous comments do not apply. You cannot afford to wait a week or you will lose credit, as you no doubt spotted.

Wait a random time, then check first that the db seems to be working (can you see data-containing web pages like your account, or the list of top participants, for example?

The random wait is important - it avoids the problem where everyone surges back as soon as the db comes back, knocking it over again. Sometime later the same day would be fine.

Then highlight this project in the project tab and click update.

Newer versions of the client will defer one day max instead of seven but I am not sure if that change has hit the current release yet, it may still be in the pipeline.
