Henri, the idea of an Alpha project is to develop new code LHC does not have any new code to develop - it is well established, stable code that has been running for ages. I realise you think it is fun to run alpha projects - but I do not hink you have thought at allabout what would be in it for the project? Especially at present when there are effectively no admins at all. Or were you thinking that LHC alpha might test run Garfield before it comes onto the main project, here? River~~ PS - congrats on getting a couple of WU today :) |

Or were you thinking that LHC alpha might test run Garfield before it comes onto the main project, here? Yes. That's the main reason. There probably will be new applications after the garfield. LHC@home Alpha would be the right project to test them, but they should enable the account creation to allow new alpha testers to come in...
That's cool. :) mars2019.org Manned mission to Mars in 2019 Petition |

I agreeOr were you thinking that LHC alpha might test run Garfield before it comes onto the main project, here? but they should enable the account creation to allow new alpha testers to come in... I don't agree. First they should see if they have enough testers at the time they have something to test. It is not useful to have too many people doing testing, and the fact is that people whp have done testing before will be better at it than those who have not. That means that if they find they have enough people already, the doors should not be opened at all. Second they should not open the doors till just before they have something to test, as it is more annoying for participants to join and have nothing to do than not to be part of the project. R~~ |
