You may know that the admins recently moved us all across to a new shiny server. In doing so, some things got broken, as is always the way when moving house.

Please report broken links and other similar problems here, but please look in the thread first to see if it has already been reported.

Postings here are not complaints - I hope none of us expects everything to be done at once - but I hope it will be useful to the admins to have a list of known issues.

Of course some broken links may be removed because it is too difficult (or too boring) to fix them. I for one would really appreciate it if some brief comment was made by admins when removing previous links, etc.

Finally, congrats to everyone for the success of the move. OK OK there were some issues, but I've seen a lot more issues when migrating servers. Well done everyone, and cunningplan to do the move when Chrulle was back in town ;-)

Sadly I flew back to Denmark this morning. But, I thought I would take one last look at the server before starting work tomorrow. The links should be fixed.

Do not expect too much support as there is officially no admin. All work on the server is done by volunteers in their spare time at the moment. This will soon change as the server is migrated to queen marys in england.

At the conference I ran into the guy who is going to take over the forums, and he is a really nice bloke. So you guys be nice to him. :-)

cheers,

Hey Chrulle! Thanks for dropping in and getting the project out of a mess! And even though the server is re-locating to my green and pleasant land, we all hope you will still 'drop in' and say "Hi!" to everyone whenever you can.....

Links to download BOINC 4.43, and saying to create account *first*... That is OLD!

For some reason it doesn't update the scheduler entry even on a reset, manually fixing it in client_state.xml does that job, detach+attach works too - but not everyone might want to do that.

Scheduler request to http://lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch/scheduler/cgi failed: http error
No schedulers responded

The new server has some serious database problems, it's always overloaded.

hi Desti - I have replied to this in a new thread, here because I feel the answer is important enough that I'd like more people to see it.

Just fyi : Patience fixed this one. After not getting a scheduler contact for several times, it downloads a fresh master file with the updated scheduler entry.

The weird part is : Resetting the project seems to make it worse as it seems to reset the retry counter too. So people who reset in order to fix the scheduler entry will never get their client_state.xml updated.
