Probably on your long list of cleanup items from the upgrad, but the stats are not exporting. The /stats/ directory is empty. Just in case you didn't know...

This is, of course, why BoincStats and other stats sites do not yet show the work that was done recently by those who got workunits in the last few days.

I realise that first priority is getting the science working, and counting progress comes later, but could we have a rough update on when the stats will start to be exported again, please?

It is not why any of us are here, but equally for a lot of us the stats do add to the satisfaction of contributing.

I tried to fix the problem. Stats should be online within 24 hours.

Still no stats export. It's a bit tedious and rather mocks the whole point of the Boinc Credit system. We've now got 2 parallel credit systems LHC & all the other Boinc projects.

Still, just got to be patient. I suppose.

That is right, I don't think anyone will be able to do anything about this now until QMC have taken over. Chrulle thought he'd fixed it, and if it was beyond Chrulle then it is not something that an interim admin is going to want to take on for fear of breaking it worse.

Hopefully someone will remember to bump this thread again when QMC are in post as admins

it would be nice if they (lhc or qmc) could give a statement when this will happen.
Because at the moment it seems like the hole project is dead.
I don't mind have to wait, but it will be nice to receive some info now and then. Even if it is that there is nothing new to say.

Where has QMC come from? Its QM, possibly QMU (Queen Mary University)

QMC, now Queen Mary, University of London, used to be Queen Mary's College - a university college in the Mile End Road. And I can tell you, whatever the inside was like, that part of the Mile End Road was horrible. I opted for Southampton instead, just because the Mile End Road was SO dirty!

Of course, it may have changed in the intervening 30 years. But then again...

but we stand corrected

does any1 has an email address of some1 at QMUL. Lets see if we can wake them up

So I was right then its not QMC at all its QMUL (Queen Mary University of London)

officially yes. For example their website is now qmul.ac.uk (not qmc.ac.uk which is a *different* Quenn Mary's college).

However it was known as Queen Mary College, University of London for many years, abbreviated to QMC, and the name has stuck including amongst some of those currently there and more so amongst those who knew it in the past.

I was at Manchester Uni some years ago, and amongst staff and students it was still called "Owen's" for Owen's College. It had not been officially so called since Queen Victoria granted it University status & a Charter but the name stuck. - By the way, in case it is not obvious, that means the name change was before my time ;-)

UK educational establishments seem particulary prone to keeping their old names in circulation - I think because of the affection people have for the place where they studied. Just like the only person who refuses to call me "River" is my mum!

So in short, yes you are right but expect to see people referring to it as QMC irrespective of your legal accuracy.

Can I suggest that would not be tactful.

They are clearly watching the server as best they can. Someone (at QMC or at CERN) sorted out the database problem last night for example. When someone is properly in post, and when people at QMC have completed the move, I am sure we will get more attention. We certainly will if we get someone in post of the quality of Chrulle.

In the meantime, quite properly IMO, /stats/ is not at the top of their "urgent" queue and is not something we should expect to be done by an interim caretaker.

yeah
well. ik know ... but its taking so long
And worse, not a word from someone about when, how or when we can expect to see some improvements.
And sure, someone is doing some fixing but as far as i can see only when something is crashing.
Its so frustrating to see a good project as LHC suffer like this.
