on the frontpage:

When prompted, enter http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/

Is this an error or not?

Glad to see LHC is nearly ready to go again ! ;o)

Both http://lhcathome.cern.ch/ and http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/ work. I've tried them my self.

I just now got errors trying to connect with server using the old URL.
Attached to new URL (new project name now) and am able to connect but no new work for now.

I have one machine, (BOINC 5.4.9), that has changed apparently by itself...

21/09/2006 09:36:01|LHC@home|Fetching scheduler list
21/09/2006 09:36:06|LHC@home|Scheduler list download succeeded
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Sending scheduler request to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome_cgi/cgi
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Reason: Requested by user
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Requesting 17280 seconds of new work
21/09/2006 09:36:17|LHC@home|Scheduler request succeeded
21/09/2006 09:36:27|lhcathome|Sending scheduler request to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome_cgi/cgi
21/09/2006 09:36:27|lhcathome|Reason: To fetch work
21/09/2006 09:36:27|lhcathome|Requesting 17280 seconds of new work
21/09/2006 09:36:32|lhcathome|Scheduler request succeeded
21/09/2006 09:36:32|lhcathome|No work from project
21/09/2006 09:36:32|lhcathome|Deferring scheduler requests for 1 minutes and 0 seconds

... note the change of name afer the first contact. My other machine, (BOINC 5.2.13), has...

21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Sending scheduler request to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome_cgi/cgi
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Reason: Requested by user
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|Couldn't resolve hostname [lhcathome-sched1.cern.ch]
21/09/2006 09:36:12|LHC@home|No schedulers responded

... so I expect a stop/start of BOINC will be needed.

That's more likely to be a side-effect of work on the server. The schedulers are responding normally again.

maybe not. It looks to me that what is happening is that the name is updated on the first successful contact. Once your second machine gets in then my guess is it will change on that machine also

but I am only guessing - I haven't been able to attach from a new machine :(

EDIT but this is a known problem at my end :( :( not an LHC issue :)

EDIT2 my already-attached machines have now successfully picked up the new names, but no more work left by you guys
