Yes we are still working on the transition here but if there were work units to be done they would be up and you would be crunching them. The users who generate the jobs are working on a bunch more but they are not ready yet. I thought dd/mm/yy was the world standard just not the American World Stanadrd. |

Yes, that format is used more globally, but at least here in the United States, dates are frequently written as mm/dd/YYyy (with YY optional)... Like today, 07/03/07... If someone put 03/07/07, many people here would think that meant March 7th unless there was something else nearby that had its' first set of digits greater than 12, like 15/07/07, for a visual clue that the dates were being given in dd/mm/yy... |

to be sure that noone makes a mistake i always use the abbreviation of the month (3 jul 2007 as you also see here in the forum) or the format yyyymmdd since that one is also very conveniant when using a date in a filename (sorting that is) |

"Please note: this project rarely has work" Ok, ok... Let's rename the thread: "Please note: this project often has work but then runs out of work and the users moan about it for a while until there is work again and when there is a lot of work the power users moan about the quotas the way the non-power users used to moan about unfair distribution of work back when this project rarely had work" There. Stick that sticky thread in your pipe and smoke it. -Lab Rat |

This project tickles my fancy but a while back I was getting a message that I didn't get any work but there was work for other platforms. I inquired and it was explained to me that this project hadn't been developed for the OSX (mac) platform yet. See this thread http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=2592. It looks like the new Garfield app will run on Mac's but SixTrack is unlikely. |

I suppose it is like their WORLD Series which is only competed for by US teams. There are 300M of them and none of them seem to be aware that are 8B others out here. They also don't know how to spell English on their side of the pond, either. |

I suppose it is like their WORLD Series which is only competed for by US teams. That's completely wrong. Toronto is in Canada and competes as does Montreal which invaded and captured Washington DC and renamed their team. Of course competitions like the champions league are properly named since obviously only champions are invited. Oh wait... ;) |

Hi there. I suggest we shut down the whole collider, for as long as the big-endian vs little-endian quarrels go on, someone incredibly stupid will likely do something more incredibly stupid with the results. Rather blow the whole rock into pebbles than sharing the vast sub-sub-atomic powers with the other-endians, not to speak of the vast majority of earth-inhabitants who do not even know or care about endianness. -irony off- So, buckle up, hunch down, grab your pens and start crunching. As for the pigs: I'm doing just fine on breadcrumbs. Prevents me from developing arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction ;) Allow me a piece of personal philosophy: as soon as science (which is what boinc is about, sort of) becomes intermixed with ego and greed for fame it turns into a parody. No offence, though. At least we have a common goal. And, personally, I do not care how much I contribute as long as I contribute. Happy computing to all. CU |

Just curious to know how long it takes to post credit for completed W/U? I am waiting on about 40 or so W/U to be credited since back in December. I AM around here for the science but at some point we all like to know how we progress in our efforts. |
