LHC Alpha is a closed project used for testing new versions of application software, server code, etc. as SixTrack isn't undergoing significant development at present there shouldn't be much difference.

There's no real work there either - and no - there are no plans to allow new members to jon at present

Awww, now would be an especially good time too since LHC@Home has no work. Alpha would be a nice backup.
