As there is no work [any time soon], users needed to be prodded to do manditory and necessary maintanace of their accounts.

During downtime it should be manditory to freeze the creation of new users -- and existing users should be forced to logon and do limited and seletive account maintance.

Delete the corrupt host, if it bothers you. Credit attributed to your user id is not lost.

I don't want to be 'forced' to do anything when I offer my resources for free.

Can't you do it by yourself? Just choose another of your computers you want to merge and on the bottom of that page click link named merge this computer and choose the another.
