Simple question, can it be done? I would like to be able to link all of my stats together and this project has a different cpid from my others. I'm not really sure how it happened.

This happens when you connect to a project.

If you have this new project running as well as the others on a single system then it should even out by itself in a few days.

I think that for a farm, it is a good idea to have one system attached to all projects you are donating to. This system will thus control your CPID. The other boxes can then be switched around acording to your taste.

Hope this helps.

Also, you need to have exactly the same email address on all projects. Even capitalization may matter. I think the code may have been changed to ignore case at some point but I don't know if all projects have updated their code yet.

No the code was changed to force all lowercase, but all projects may not have updated and older email addresses with capital letters may not be corrected. So always use all lowercase letters in your email address.

The other strategy for farms is to have one project on all your boxes. That project then serves to propagate the CPID across all projects.

Both my approach and Peter's work fine, and both may take a few times your "connect every" setting to settle down properly when a new project is added

With the new (v 5+) clients the CPID should settle down to the one currently held by your oldest (first to register) current (still downloading work) project - on older clients the rules were different.

ps - good to see you still around the boards here Peter ;-)

I would recommend XtremLab for such a task (with a resource share of 1)

Boy did I get a reaction on the one day that I was messed up. Some REAL GOOD pain killers. Memo to self, stay off the forums when have a migrane. :)

Also about the CPID settleing down, from memory should only take about 2 to four days, deffinatly ont longer than a week.

Hey Peter,
I like Trogs idea. Xtrem will fill up with heaps of very short WU's for the first few hours then settle down to a much more reasonable pace. Then all your PC's will have a project to draw on.

As for the other, the only common point they all had, was a lack of common sense. You had deffined the criteria of the post quite well, I thought. That's what pissed me off about their attacks. I respond like that a bit, now and then 8-), but I usually hit and retreat. Couldn't retreat when it was you ;-).

How stupid were some of those posts? They said "He should join other projects, blah, blah, blah.... else [statement of hate]..". So I said, "Peter is in a number of other projects!" But they kept saying the same thing, "other projects, other projects, other projects.." There are a lot of idiots out there, but not the truth! 8-D..
